Brilliant acting, great music, and a compelling plot. I liked this biopic much more than the more recent A Complete Unknown.

Solid biography with good performances

They should stop making these pop artist movies. They are all the same, drugs, ignorance, and misfortunes... Ray, Elvis, Mercury, Elton.... At least this one had a happy ending.

Well written, well acted, singing was good, a biopic showing the life of an icon, where redemption is important, along with forgiveness.

It feels lived-in; the chemistry between Joaquin and Reese is off the charts and the individual performances they both put in are stellar. The little vignettes of Cash’s life genuinely feel amazing to behold and made me want to know more about him and made me feel super-connected to the music.

this is truly an amazing film and by a far its my personal favorite movie ever the emotional depths that this film it's are amazing and it's worth watching just for Joaquin phoenix and Reese Witherspoons performance's please please check this movie out when you get a chance the moral of the story which is there's always a light at the end of the tunnel no joke changed my life

Stirring and cohesive, especially the performances

this is an awesome film. my fav film directed by James Mangold that contains some great acting, emotional moments and tells a fantastic story with some great and iconic songs in it. 9.0/10

Great actors in a simple but effective biopic, that touches on the hits but nothing deeper, Expertly bookend and directed. It's good but doesn't go deep enough to be great.

Not every musician that takes drugs story needs to be sad, and in fact, this one was super uplifting and well-acted to say the absolute least.
