Washington Heights Reviews
Better than the theater production. Music hood
good movie but needed more drama, it also would have been better without the old 70's style look. decent flick tho
I liked this movie, wasn't the best movie ever, but worth watching. I didn't even realize the main character was a comic artist(bonus in my book), but he takes over his dad's bodega to help out after an accident. Its basically a slice-of-life kind of movie. It makes the Heights look like an interesting place to live.
Not surprisingly, the film is strongest when its characters are simply hanging out, shooting the breeze and venting their feelings, while moments of high drama fall flat.
Bland and convoluted, DV-cam indie-drama about a Dominican-American comic book artist coming to terms with issues involving his girlfriend, father and best friend. The storyline and pacing are more uneven than a Brooklyn sidewalk and the acting at times can be somewhat melodramatic. Basically, the film doesn't seem to go anywhere until spurts of story arc occur here and there. There are however shining moments of humor and although I do sense a good film underneath it all, I may just have to blame it all on the editor this time. Worth viewing for the absolutely curious.
yeah may be the story line and direction is good but this kind of movie i dont like to watch. but unfortunately when i see this movie there is no other good movie in my stock
can't believe it when i saw rahj's face behind the smoke and heard his musica. and i miss new york. i miss mi casa...
ok this movie means alot to me because it shows this Dominican comic book writer, living in Washington Heights NYC, and he has alot going for him, until his father was injured, when his Bodega was robbed, and it seems everything went downhill, but in the end he got through it all. took a lot of sacrifice.
