Unfortunately, the skewed too far from the novels ending and several things throughout to be considered a great film. It was fun to watch. It had a nice budget, but Mr. Baumbach’s talents could be better served elsewhere

I went into this movie doubtful that it would be much more than ok given the press surrounding it, and I’m joyed to say I loved it. The film truly delivered a diverse range of tone and emotion which it navigated with expertise. Some parts of them movie feel amazing one moment, disappointing the next, and then clear by the end. Adam Driver delivers a wonderful performance alongside Greta Gerwig. This said I don’t believe this to be without its faults. There is still some parts of this that feel unnecessary to the overall narrative the movie constructs by the end. While most of the cinematography was wonderful and very well done, some shots felt as though they lacked confidence or were amateurish, which is odd for a movie of this budget and talent. Not everything felt as fine tuned and polished as say Marriage Story or The Squid and the Whale, however it was still as satisfying and wonderful, complete film by the end. I do believe that in ten years time this will be seen as a very important and innovative movie for Noah Baumbach’s impressive filmography.

It was witty and bizarre and all over the place and I totally loved it! Stay til the end and rhumba on!

True to the book. Great acting and quirky style makes it really engaging. Well done all around!

Wild ride and completely worth it!

Muddled story but good acting

This was my favorite book when I was in my 20s. I'm in my 50s now and honestly don't remember the book that well anymore. But I did notice it left out some things. The sets, props, and clothes had amazing attention to detail. Adam Driver was very good. Not a Greta Gerwig fan. Probably won't be enjoyed by people who didn't read the book.

An embarrassing disservice to a great novel. Don Cheadle's casting was inspired and adds a nice layer to Maury's Elvis obsession but nothing else here really works. Wonderful set and costume design which was mostly lost on a blurry projection. There was no way to film this book adequately, and no one should have tried.

Was not expecting the dry humor in this film which was very nice, the film is a very accurate portrayal of the book and all of the actors fit their characters perfectly in appearance and personality
