Great film, well acted and intresting story. Watch it and you wont be disappointed.

A great story that deserved the film treatment, but a film that was bland, and wasted the talents of two great actors who could have done the story more justice. No real surprises are to be found in this movie, but at least there's some great emotional moments from Reynolds and Mirren.

Honestly loved this film far more than I thought, so many great actors, wonderful performances, and a sympathetic, informative storytelling style. Beautifully shot. Lovely Zimmer music too! Honestly well done all around, and Mirren won an Oscar for a reason....

This is a great film about a painting stolen by the Nazis and the niece of the paintings owner and subject who tries to get it back decades after WWII. It has suspenseful courtroom drama mixed with nostalgic and scary flashbacks to Austria before the war. There's great acting and it tells a really memorable story in a satisfying way.

I absolutely love the chemistry between the two leads, They do their best to carry this movie in do so through great acting.

The battle to regain ownership of a valuable painting that was stolen by the Nazis when they annexed Austria. A true story, brought in by another true story. I sobbed bitter tears over this movie, and I'm quite knowledgeable of the holocaust. Like many other movies about this era in history, this one deserves to be seen.

Well crafted and a very watchable film.

A good story, really poorly executed by the director. The acting is surprisingly stolid. Something is wrong here given the subject. Could have been so much more powerful and gripping. That being said, it was easy enough to watch, so worth a watch just about if only to familiarise yourself with what is a beautiful piece of art.

I wanted to like this movie because the true store it tells is compelling, but the script writing is awful. It's hard to tell if the acting is pretty poor as well, as it seems to be, or just a direct result of the terribly weak script. Either way, it was a disappointment.

Despite excellent actors and an interesting plot the story and the acting just plods along.

This movie pulled me in, I didn't notice time passing. My emotions were engaged which is surprising considering so much of this movie revolves around court cases. I'm surprised they were able to make this material as exciting as they did.

I had never heard of this film until today, but at the recommendation of someone dear to me I chose to watch it. I was absolutely swept away by the strength of Maria Altman and her drive to ensure the truth was told and justice prevailed for her family despite being stolen from and attempts to erase the truth. This movie is up there with the likes of Schindler's List on importance for the Holocaust survivors and the robbery of everything from Jewish descendants due to the horrific abuses at the hands of the Nazi Regime.

A movie that shows how long it can and does take for the innocent to recover or to even receive justice from the segregation, slavery, bigotry, racism, hate, & violence of a political party, and the people that support it, that believe that the government is the sole arbiter of the rights and freedoms of the people.
