The World's Fastest Indian Reviews

Mar 2, 2025

A beautiful movie with a heartwarming performance from Hopkins. The ending is worth the journey of this sweet road trip, and the message in the end credits left a lump in my throat. Wow! One of Anthony Hopkins best and most underrated films! I first heard about this film from presenter Johnathan Ross during his Film reviews on tv. (Along with Big Lebowski)

This is one of those timeless, historical biographical dramas. It's a feel-good movie that delivers. I highly recommend this film if you have not seen it and need to smile or cry with happy tears.

Boring, silly plot and Anthony Hopkins attempt at Aussie or NZ accent sounded ridiculous.

There is an interesting story being told here, it's just gets lost in the schmaltz and cheesiness of it all.

Swivels between two formulaic narratives of factual dramatization and socially connective, adventurous familiarity with the latter gaining the most investment for storytelling purposes over occurred facts about one speedster driven to break the barrier. Respectfully envisioned with intriguing personally-goaled ambition, condensed and stretched with identifiable cheese based off of certain previously structured narratives under similar nature, outlining the enjoyment level that's bolstered and uplifted by Anthony Hopkins's charismatically optimistic, soulful performance. (B+)

The World's Fastest Indian tells the story of Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins), an aging motorcycle enthusiast who dreams of travelling from his homeland of New Zealand to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to test the speed of his Indian bike. It's part road trip and part sports biography as Munro, a strangely likeable but tiresome sort, overcomes countless obstacles to make his dream come true. The story chugs along, much like his battered motorcycle, leading to a predictable but satisfying climax. While the subject matter doesn't justify the long running time and some of the supporting cast provide wince-worthy performances, Hopkin's portrayal of the irritating neighbor from hell more than compensates for any of the film's shortcomings.

Worth your time. Enjoyable and believable.

A fun movie that takes you on an old man's journey in pursuit of his lifelong goal. The movie depicts good ol' fashioned, friendly encounters with people along the way. It's a feel good movie, with relatively low stress.

One of my favourite films both for content and sheer captivation. If you're a motorcyclist it's a must but also regarding the human ability for steer determination

One of my favorite movies! Played to perfection by Hopkins.

A pleasantly surprising film about an old guy who might be so strange that his determination draws others in fascination on his incredible journey. Certainly a goofy story at times, but Hopkins is on point as usual and keeps his goofy character of Burt at the helm of his world record. A fun feel good movie

The movie felt very drawn out and disorganised, the comedy missed it's mark and the dialogue, especially in New Zealand could've been better but the performances, cinematography and story made up for its failures.

One of my all time favorites
