Decent but not amazing.

X2: X-Men United is one of those sequels that are better than the first film. The characters are still great, I love how much more we got to know about them. Bascially all the adult protagonists except Cyclops, who I think is underused. I love how nuanced some of them became, it adds a lot to the characters. The plot twists are especially great and the information is perfectly dosed to keep the audience intrigued. This film is a lot longer than the first one, but the pacing is similarily great. It's intriguing throughout and never boring. The visual effects are even better than they were in the first film. The cinematography is just as good. The score is also still beautiful, while the cast is even more outstanding. On the other hand, the acting is mixed. Most of them, like Hugh Jackman are great, but there are a few performances I disliked. X2: X-Men United is a great sequel wich is either as good or a little better at all the aspects of the film.

I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it was still awesome. The story was intense and the action was great. I definitely recommend it for superhero fans!

X2 es un grana avance desde la primera. Hay mejores efectos especiales, las escenas de combate son más fluidas y realistas. Siguen siendo los actores quienes se llevaban todo por delante! En esta entrega me siento más cercano a los personajes.

just like Empire Strikes Back, the 2nd film in the original trilogy is rated as the best. 9/10

Great sequel that expands Wolverine's background and as well as that of side characters. Some cool new additions to the teams and the first they the two parts are seen collaborating for a common goal. McKellen (in particular) and Stewart as usual carry the most depth. Really interesting also the brief insight into Magneto's past. Glimpses of what's to come prepare the viewer for the third chapter.

X2 ups the ante by forcing the heroes and villains into a precarious truce against a greater evil that threatens them both. Although this accomplished a more interesting narrative overall, my criticisms of the first movie still apply. I also have questions about certain plot points in the third act that don't make sense to me. What is the extent of Storm's ability to control the weather, and when the dam burst why couldn't she stop what was essentially a tsunami? She can very clearly manipulate precipitation/water so if there's a caveat to her ability then it isn't explained very well in the movie. Why did Jean Grey have to leave the jet to use her telekinesis? Wolverine asks this exact question at the end of the movie and it is chalked up to something about her having to make a choice. Overall, unlike other superhero movies of the time period which focus on one hero and an accompanying villain (e.g. Spider-Man and Green Goblin), the X-Men movies are more ambitious; but with so many characters and superpowers to keep track of I feel the narrative gets progressively messier with inconsistencies.

The second installment focuses primarily on action and the powers of others, while delving into some potentially climactic threads of the story. While the story and the characters make questionable turns, it still makes for an enjoyable story as Stryker causes a true divide between humankind and mutantkind. The set-up and the visuals of the story, alongside the quips and the characters’ fun dynamics makes this an acceptable entry of the original X-Men trilogy.

Great sequel now also showing Wolverine's past

X2 delivers a superior sequel! The action - improved; the effects - improved; most importantly, the story - improved. Once again, featuring standout performances from Hugh Jackman, Stewart and McKellen, X2 is the rare sequel to outshine the original!

It’s a good movie too good

The best X-men movie never gets boring action is peak and the story is very unpredictable and you get to see the real power of some characters watch it when you have the chance and it ages very well

A worthy sequel to the original.

A great sequel that improves upon the original. X2 is better than over half of the modern day MCU movies.

Another awesome X-men movie, I love the time freeze scenes so much and that ending with Mr. Presdient I would be shitting my pants if I was him lol. Whoever came up with Kurt's character awesome job he is still one of my favs just his skin and his power are cool as hell. I hate William Striker so much ugh he pisses me off every time he came on screen.

The opening White House attack scene gives this movie a shot in the arm of adrenaline that never really wears off until the extended finale. Maybe a tad too long, but man is this a great fucking superhero flick.

Un ottimo sequel con il suo prologo da vera molecola strutturata. La trama si complica un po’ con l’arrivo di Stryker ma riesce a rappresentare al meglio il suo stile, la sua strategia e la sua forza. Ha un’ atmosfera rivoluzionata al meglio, il tono bilanciato dove questi villani hanno il loro proprio scopo per obiettivi diversi, Stryker lo considero ottimo come villain. 9/10
