Young Frankenstein Reviews
3.65. Amazingly funny and brilliant at times.
I've seen this one at very different stages and ages of my life, and it doesn't stops being hilarious. It's so silly that it makes laugh hard every time even if you know what's coming. That tells you how well it was done. A perfect parody meshing two classics.
A cute funny tribute spoof of the classic B&W Frankenstein movies with plenty of Mel Brook’s signature humor and satire. Gene Wilder is giving it his all and Igor steals the show. The comedic timing of the whole cast is great and the visuals really effectively capture the old timey look of that era while playing the feel straight to better contrast the comedy.
Brilliant! So funny, and very well made. You can see the passion and care that went into directing this. I will watch it again and again
OK, but kind of long and drawn out. The humor is very dated. Some people I know watch this movie every Halloween. Once in a blue moon is enough for me.
Such a classic and why is that? Great everything, these folks cared about making a great movie...
Frau Blucher! Absolute classic.
My favorite comedy. Great cast and hardly a bad scene
Mel Brooks’ finest film. A top 10 movie of all-time. A classic in every sense of the word. A brilliantly casted film, led by Gene Wilder, Terry Garr, and Marty Feldman. A botched science experiment brings Frankenstein to life. A film you can enjoy with the entire family. 13+ to understand everything. A perfect film.
Simply put, the funniest movie ever made!
Must watch for any horror movie or comedy movie fan
This is a must-see film if you like Cinema or excellent writing and acting. It is my all-time favorite film.
One of the funniest movies of all-time... Gene and Mel were flat out comedic geniuses 🫶
"Get ready for a monstrously funny ride in Mel Brooks' 'Young Frankenstein'! This classic comedy parodies the horror genre with uproarious wit and unforgettable characters. Gene Wilder shines as the young Dr. Frankenstein, who inherits his family's spooky castle, and Marty Feldman steals the show as the hilarious hunchback Igor. Teri Garr adds charm as Inga, navigating the eccentricities of the Frankenstein household. The film is a perfect blend of horror and humor, keeping me laughing throughout. From the iconic "Puttin' on the Ritz" scene to Peter Boyle's tap-dancing monster, the film is packed with timeless moments that will leave you in stitches. 'Young Frankenstein' is a side-splitting delight that stands the test of time!
Mel Brooks considered this his finest work and specifically third funniest parody he's ever done. Agreeable on the finest craftsmanship as he aesthetically devoted to the subject with unexpected faithfulness whilst incorporating jokes for genius laughs per his signature, charged by the cast's comedically energized brilliance. The directorial ranking on the framed hilarity is debatable, but its classic status sure is justified. (B+)
The best of Mel Brooks' films. It's good, funny, scary, and well performed and made.
Mel Brooks knows how to make a movie that is for sure
I love this movie, it's such a fun take. Black and white so if you can't deal with that it won't be your jam, but a Mel Brooks classic. We watch it at least once a year around Halloween, and usually more than that!
Hilarity ensuing oddly modern
