A fun, but pretty stupid film. Your enjoyment will hinge more on your enjoyment of a sword & sorcery romp than on brilliant comedy.

A funny brainless comedy. Don't have to think too much, just watch and laugh.

I think it might tend towards a more British sense of humour, which finds the scatological and the rude funny. I love this and will happily rewatch it. It is almost pantomime, which is why I think it suits the British taste more than the American. The acting is over the top at times, but it is supposed to be. If you don't get it, fine, you don't get it.

So puerile and unfunny, I can only imagine that none of the producers read the script before agreeing to it.

A great cast, excellent special effects but a mediocre script. It certainly had it moments of very broad humour (I mean who doesn't enjoy a severed minataur knob joke) and I'm certainly not adverse to Natalie Portman in RPG outfits but it wasn't as consistently funny as it could have been. I can't help but think a bit more time developing the script and gags would have made this a real winner but it's still worth a watch though if you don't mind the swearing.

It is truly remarkable to encounter a fantasy so devoid of imagination or a comedy so devoid of mirth. This film could be used to torment political prisoners but it would provoke an instant ruling from the ICJ.

Horrible movie. Danny McBride very unfunny as usual. James Franco wooden. Waste of Natalie Portman who deserve better.

This could have been a much better movie without Danny McBride. Almost every-time he delivers a line, I'm pulled out of the period . Thoroughly disappointing for how good this movie looks.

Hilarious movie with a lot of gags! Best viewed after a long day of work for a relaxing evening entertainment.

I thought they did a great job on this movie, I feel like it was meant to be cheesy and terrible. I find it to be pretty hilarious, I even bought the comic because I wanted to see more. These guys are just funny, the whole idea was funny. I can watch this movie again and will. I'm glad Seth Rogen isn't in it, he sucks.

I cannot figure out how people rated this movie so low. It's hilarious, witty and visually amazing. It's rare a comedy actually looks good but this movie looks better than most action/fantasy movies made even now. Watch this movie if you get a chance

Funny cant stop quoting this movie

Hilarious. Side-splitting, or spitting, fun at times. Thadius's transformation is precious. Toby Jone's genitalia is poster material. Damien Lewis's dying confession cut pefectly. Portman's return and her chastity belt was breathtaking. Franco's unrelenting optimism really worked. The whole cast was happy to be there.
