Zombieland: Double Tap Reviews

Apr 18, 2025

I have to say that was a little underwhelmed. The movie was funny enough, but I was just expecting a bit more. For it to at least be as funny as it's predecessor if not more. A few random funny spots & some random stars and not much else. Definitely a rental flick in my opinion.

Double Tap is a hilarious, action-packed sequel that ups the chaos. With great chemistry between the cast and plenty of laughs, it’s a wild ride that doesn't take itself too seriously

This recaptures almost all the energy, charm, quirkiness, 50% of the heart & awesomeness of the first. The editing and pacing isn't bad here. Where the first was a RomCom Horror flick this is Zombie Road movie effectively with a side of Romcom. Problem is effectively the outcome is the same as the first. We go on a hunt for Little Rock, they grow apart and come back again. On the road it's really just gags more than anything that happen. Maybe half the time it's important to the plot. Thing is everything else is solid about this. The humor is pretty solid actually and because it maintains the look, feel, and quirks of the first so much it's able to get away with when it meanders on the road at times. The kills also are pretty creative and solid. The fight with Dawson at the Hotel is really good and arguably the highlight of this. But even when it does stuff that doesn't go anywhere like introducing the subtypes of zombies at the start or trying to get the RV it's either funny, fun, or just pretty well done on it's own. The other issue is in terms of new characters some like Madison are kind of annoying but give you some laughs. I have to admit she did start to get annoying after such a long while and I'm glad we got a break from her. Little Rock is probably the weakest thing in this. She feels like an afterthought despite being the McGuffin effectively and is just alright. Everyone else is solid though. Harrelson is the best once again, Stone is great with a deadpan delivery, and Dawson is the best new character. It does feel like most of the new characters though are here for gags more than anything of equal substance to the main trio including Madison. Kind of a love hate relationship with her. Even when the humor does miss though it doesn't stop to think about it and the charm this has makes it forgiveable. It doesn't miss that often though and there are some really good laughs. They do try to do a love triangle in this and it sort of works for laughs and amusement more than anything of substance like the first though. And there really isn't much in the way of new character development besides repeating the arcs of the first in the sense. But anyone who is a fan of the first, any actors in this, the director (really good job here), horror, comedies, and zombie flicks should check this out. It's a Zombie Flick classic.

It's not as good as the first but that doesn't mean it's bad because it is far from bad. Still a very fun, enjoyable, zombie movie!

I cannot stand child stars. Abigail Breslin is unbearably smug in every movie she’s in and it bring this directionless movie down even further. Nothing really happens. It’s just not worth revisiting.

little to no story, and the characters are very one-dimensional

Double Tap is a great sequel to a great first movie, I do not prefer the first or the second, both are fun, actually Double Tap has a little advantage by not wasting again someone like Bill Murray 🙄 Unlike other sequels this one comes much later as usual and does not feel as if it was made only to milk the success of the first one, the actors and so the characters are older now, which gives the whole thing more depth, well not like a drama, but like Zombieland, Double Tap is about the people and both movies have a very likable cast, at least I like to see them interact, follow them. There are some new characters, mainly Rosario Dawson, which only problem is, that she seems to appear everywhere in the past few years. But she is cool here, actually she is cool most of the time in evry role she plays 🙂 All in all Zombieland: Double Tap is an excellent movie and everybody, who liked the first one and want to see what happened to Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock...or never saw the movies...watch it!

A fun continuation of the story and characters that we all love from the first film, while never reaching that film’s heights.

Watched because I love zombieland so much. Not as good as the first but still super funny.

Good moments, except the moments about third wheel.

Zombieland: Double Tap lacks some of the humorous bite of the original but a more than worthy sequel based on the strong emotional core of its four main characters.

Mediocre, unnecessary, and undeserving of the title "Zombieland". Only gets 2 stars because the film could be WORSE, it is just incredibly dull and uninspired. This sequel seems to only exist because fans EXPECTED there to be one. The romance drama is laughable and only exists to just BARELY sluggishly push the plot along, the new special infected variants are lame and are completely devoid of the semi-believable nature of the infected in the first film, and don't even get me STARTED on the absolutely RIDICULOUS "native American" plotline they randomly pinned on the character Tallahassee. Only watch this movie after you've seen the first film, every other zombie film, and have nothing else to watch... but keep your expectations low or prepare to be severely disappointed.

A great sequel to the first movie. Solid and fun storyline. Really hope they make a third one too!

This sequel throws everything we saw in the first one in the garbage.

Apr 4, 2024

Though the performances of the cast are fine and there are some cool moments, Zombieland: Double Tap is a wholly underwhelming sequel that has a high emphasis on busywork and rickety, chaotic action while also lacking any of the sharpness, humor and involving nature that the original had.

A great follow up to the first one! Fans of the original should give it a shot!

More of the same but still has the heart

A comedic take on ‘Dawn of the Dead' and ‘Walking dead'. A great cast with funny chemistry, the original quartet with their witty sarcasm at each other and some new characters , particularly Zoey Deutsch , add some fun to the mix. The story drags a bit at times but the comedy makes up for it.

Silly. You will forget it as soon as it is over.

A great sequel to the original Zombieland that expands on the original characters and add new ones that makes you laugh again and again and again.
