Aliens Reviews
Best of the best sci fi horror action movie!
Sigourney Weaver delivers an amazing performance in a brilliantly paced, tense thriller. A must see film for all fans of scifi
This film isn't as good as the original, but it's still great and I can see why some find it better. It's a film that, instead of going for more of the same, went for bigger and bolder. It went for spectacle, essentially. And I think it did it well. Nothing better to do than to get right into it, I guess. This is pretty much a natural evolution of Alien's story. Ripley goes into stasis, so what happens when she wakes up? This happens. They could go anywhere with it, as she could wake up anywhere, so they made her wake up in an action movie where marines go to LV426 to save people. It's interesting and well done, as it's entertaining. And the Queen Xenomorph felt natural as a villain, and I liked her. Speaking of, this movie really lives up to its title. There are multiple aliens this time, and it ramps up the stakes. It also leads to a great scene with a room full of alien eggs, where the Queen Xenomorph is. There's also the idea that there's more Xenomorphs than you'd think, and maybe there's more for future sequels. There is. That's why Alien 3 exists. Also Newt was cool, and it had a nice hopeful ending that I liked. Even if Alien 3 kinda changes how you see it, its still a great ending to the story. Overall, a great sequel to Alien with a lot of great action sequences.
In my opinion the weakest of all of the Alien franchise, no substance purely aesthetic offering in typical Cameron fashion, bigger does not equal better. The very poorly trained special forces commandos I find irritating throughout which is a shame because Lars Henrikson is an awesome Android character.
I'll cut right to the chase. Buckle up! Because this is the best most action packed action sci-fi horror film ever made. The best practical special effects of all time. This is one of the best movies ever made. Hands down! It takes its predecessor and turns it up 100 notches.
A cliche loaded disgrace to the first movie in my opinnion. Stupid Hollywood Action-Movie with screaming kids, instead of a grandios Sci-Fi/Horror Movie that invented a whole new genre.
My number 9 of my Top 10 list of movies! Sigourney Weaver one of my all time favorite actors. First time that a woman kicks ass and it became time (not every woman screams when in trouble, there are enough women who can kick ass!) Sequel of the movie Alien just fall out of my Top 10 list of movies.
Absolutely brilliant love it!
Great movie sequal.
Like its original, this is one of my favourite films. I would say this is in the top three Alien movies, along with the original from 1979 and Prometheus (Resurrection can go die). It has the same interesting concept as the original only with less tension and more action. However, I still don't believe that this film is better than the original. Maybe it's just me that thinks that, but I prefer the eerie stillness and tension of the original and helplessness of the crew (considering they didn't have the power of the military on their side) as they try to kill the Alien. Also, the xenomorphs aren't as much as a threat in this movie. In the original, it took blowing up the ship, impaling it, exposing it to the vacuum of space, and frying it before it died. But in this movie, all you have to do it shoot it in the head. Not that I don't like this movie, I just prefer the original.
Probably the best sequel of all time other than Empire Strikes Back. Movie was just perfect in everyway. Cameron's best work.
Stunning visuals and epic characters make this an incredible sci-fi movie. I highly recommend it!
This is an extraordinary follow up to a timeless master piece. However I do think the first Alien movie is better, and the reason why I think that is because this movie takes away a lot of the horror. And I always thought the Alien movies were great as horror films. But that doesn’t stop this from being a great movie, I’d argue that this is probably one of the best action movies I have ever seen. The action is top notch, the characters were iconic once again, the final battle between Ripley and the Queen Xenomorph I think is one of the most iconic fights in cinema history. I love it and I definitely think it’s worth watching if you love the Alien Franchise.
“Aliens” is the phenomenal 1986 sci-fi action sequel to the 1979 science fiction horror classic “Alien,” which tells the story of a crew’s deadly encounter with a frightening and formidable life-form discovered on a desolate moon, LV426. Now, 57 years later, a small platoon must fight for survival against an ARMY of “Xenomorphs” in an abandoned human colony on a newly-terraformed LV426, using every military weapon in its arsenal to battle the horde of monstrosities. But, “Aliens” isn’t just an intense action monster slugfest, it also has excellent performances and memorable characters with compelling story arcs that provide depth. Sigourney Weaver is outstanding as Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of an alien’s malicious killing of her entire crew nearly 60 years ago. Today, after having been disembarked from an escape shuttle and awakened from stasis, not to mention discovering her daughter’s passing of 66 years of age, she must adjust to a different time. Eventually, she reawakens her maternal instinct through her connection with a young colonist named Newt(Carrie Henn), who, like Ripley, is also the last survivor of an alien attack. Likewise, Michael Biehn is believable as Corporal Hicks, the reluctant leader who must assume command of a platoon having sustained casualties of more than half of its numbers to the initial xenomorph assault, including the previous commander. Moreover, Bill Paxton is a delight as Private Hudson, the wisecracking grunt who, though hysterically frightened out of his wits, must muster up the strength and courage to carry on the fight against the big bad scary aliens. Although it’s an 80s science fiction action flick, “Aliens” is also an exhilarating cinematic masterpiece that can appeal to fans of various movie genres and multigenerational cinephiles. In any case, you won’t be disappointed with this retro sci-fi movie classic.
Cameron and crew do a really good job keeping you on the edge of your seat. This sequel is relentless. It is a rare example of a sequel that is smarter, more rounded, and more fun than the original. The director's cut provides essential backdrop to understand why Ripley is compelled to venture back into the void. The characters are great. You fall in love with Newt and of course the corporate masters are the ultimate bad guys again. This film is complete and if there had never been another Alien related movie, it would have been fine. That said, I'm a fan of many sequels/prequels. But this movie sealed up the story very well, giving you a non-stop ride along the way.
The story about aliens and the universe are getting boring the whole script is predictably boring a boring franchise.... Fictional fantasy sci-fi....dull

The “Super Metroid” to the original’s “Metroid”. It builds on the world established in the previous film by delving deeper into the lore and follows Ripley dealing with the trauma caused by her last encounter with a Xenomorph. The larger budget allows for heightened, pulse riffle action scenes that are iconic within the action genre, but takes away the helpless, dire tone of the first film that made it a horror masterpiece. “Aliens” is a stellar sequel as it follows the formula that worked with “Alien”, but adds enough twists and unique aspects that provide a completely different experience from the original. James Cameron always locks in when directing Space Military action films with blue-heavy color pallets.
