The Ten Reviews
i can't imagine a world in which anyone could even begin to find this funny. you have to be lobotomised to be able to make any connection at all between the ten commandments and the films. except perhaps for the MRTs.
One of the worst things ever put to film.

Ten very idiosyncratic and inter-related stories, every story is inspired by each of the Ten Commandments. Each one with its own quirk and hilariously skewed take on biblical events in time and how each commandment came to be. Paul Rudd is our narrator of the movie and a riot he is. Before each story we see a quite amusing intro and sort of cut scene as you will where we build up the anticipation of the next wacky ride we take. In the end we come together to break out into song, isn't that how every biblical story ended in history?🤷🏻♂️😂 The very comedically abled cast is the life raft for this anchored and stagnant type of story line that is this film. Really the only fresh take on the subject matter in recent memory was delivered here. It's just pure indie goodness in my opinion. Know what you are getting into really as this is on the exact level of crappy B movie but quite honestly that's some of the best guilty pleasure titles you can stumble upon. What can i say Indie's have always been very risk reward.
Total disappointment. This film has a ton of potential that was in no way realized. What a waste of talent!
the stories are varied and not the usual Wain brilliance. I normally enjoy the slapstick and cast that he can gather but it doesn't click here. Paul Rudd is a little annoying here which is a waste of his talent. I only found some the stories funny but give Wain credit for at least keeping this style of humor alive.
This movie is hilarious. It's grossly underrated and just wasn't seen enough. If you just want a good laugh, check out this movie.
Undiscovered gem. The humor might not be for everyone, but if you liked "Wet Hot American Summer" and you don't like this, you're a crazy person.
I only watched this as a goof.
big names... big flop. waste of time. would have rather took a nap... too outragious and over the top. each of the ten skits does have moral points... but its ridiculous.
Another case of critics being uptight and out of touch with comedy. Goofy comedy rarely gets it right, but this time it definitely did. Very funny movie, David Wain is a comic genius
Why did we sit through this to the end? I have no idea but I wished that we hadn't. It's one of those movies that you hope will get better as it moves through the motions but alas it ended in the most cringe worthy of ways, a group sing along recapping the ten stories we have just seen. I don't understand how firstly, there is such a great cast for such a shit script, and secondly, how an actor would look at this script and think it was good. That criticism aside I did laugh at certain points in the film especially the story where two neighbours are in a war to see who can buy the most cat scan machines for their house - this should give you an idea of the kind of warped humour on offer in this film.
Definitely prefer Role Models, and haven't yet seen Wet Hot American Summer. There's a lot of hilarious shit in here, but the framing device is awkward, and plenty of it just sinks into awkward implausibility. Definitely the potential is on display. There's a glorious, weird sense of humor here that's very compelling, only here the whole seems more like a compendium of scraps than a polished effort. Like Role Models, for instance. "Mm you smell good... what is that, coffee breath?" And I loved the evil Weiner dogs.
One of the best comedies I've seen in a very, very long time. Can't beleive I'm going to say it, either. But each section is a great part of the movie. I just don't remember Justin Theroux in this film...?
