Heartbreakers Reviews
I thought it was pretty funny. I liked Jennifer Love-Hewitt and her love interest. I thought they did a good job. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was fun.
The cast does an admirable job for most of this movie, but it's not enough to rescue a script that reduces men to foolish skirt chasers who make easy prey for seductive, cold-blooded women.
One of my favorite movies for sure. I’ve probably watched it over 100 tones.
I think this movie is hilarious!
I'd seen this probably 20 yrs ago and had forgotten so much I decided to check it out. It was ok but for a comedy I didn't laugh once. I was never really impressed with S. Weaver. I own most of the Alien films but thought they could do better than her. The best things about this one was JLH lol. I can't really recommend it.
It's funny, underrated. The cast is hilarious and I love the mother/daughter combo of Sigourney and Jennifer Love Hewitt. It's fun to see Ray Liotta doing comedy too. A great cast, phenomenal soundtrack and it's set on the beach. Light hearted comedy with a slightly dark edge.
Such a classic funny from start to finish.
It's amusing to see Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt have fun with their roles in Heartbreakers. They seem to be enjoying themselves, playing against type. Their characters are absolutely despicable, and yet you kind of forget that and even root for them at times. The makeup artists made Gene Hackman look absolutely disgusting, too. However, this movie cons itself by relying too much on raunchy humor. If it chose to be clever more often than simply pushing the envelope, it would have been a better, more accessible movie. The ending also feels too abrupt and left me feeling unsatisfied.
Love this movie and every actor/actress in it. I've probably watched it 30 times or more since it's release when I was a young girl :)
Heartbreakers has a good cast and plot twists, but ultimately fails to please because none of the characters are likeable, so you have nobody to root for. The real star of the show is JLH's push-up bra and low cut tops she wears in almost every scene. The bartender is a "nice guy", but it is unbelievable that he would fall for JLH's character and want to marry her after she continually treats him like sh**, just because she's pretty and dresses sexy. It flirts along the border of comedy, eliciting a few chuckles, but never quite breaks through into the realm of laugh out loud humor.
Sort of like the excellent dirty rotten scoundrels...& the much older Sigourney Weaver is sexy than the much younger Jennifer Love Hewitt in this.. Believe it.
The movie acts like Palm Beach is the big leagues for con artists, but scamming Floridians seems as easy as falling off a log.
Not believable or plausible but very watchable with a funny very funny scenes 2.8
This romantic comedy was pretty good. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Jason Lee, Gene Hackman, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The plot of the movie was pretty entertaining and humorous. It's about trying to pull off a plan to get rich, but in the process it turns out to be something more than you'd expected. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. You'd probably like it.
You keep waiting for it to end and it doesn't. Weaver needs to stick to fighting aliens but Liotta does a nice job. If this had been made in the 70s or 80s with more established comedic actors, this would have been a more interesting film.
There's never been a better movie made. Watch with friends or by yourself! Truly dream casting with Ms. Weaver and Ms. Jennifer. Their mother daughter con artist antics are a nonstop delight, while Gene Hackman shines in this career-making, uproarious performance. Ray Liotta also nails it. The plot and script are total winners. Peak early 2000s fashion and a riot from start to finish. Can't recommend enough. Love this movie.
A miscast and epic failure of a film
Very cool and different storyline. Entertaining and Funny.
