A Good Person Reviews
5.0 stars; This movie was well-cast and was rewarded by outstanding performances, especially by Morgan Freeman and Florence Pugh. The only criticism I have is that it seemed a little too long. It took a little too long to develop the characters. But considering everyone's life was like a roller coaster, I guess that's understandable. Even though it was long, I was compelled to keep watching to see what would eventually happen. I started out at 4.5 stars until I read some of the Corporate Reviews. They made me realize how much out of touch those folks are with the general film audience looking for meaningful entertainment and not technical perfection. Now I feel better about 5 stars.
So good. How about that. Although many reviewers claim it’s a tale that’s been spun before, so what? Performances were wonderful and I would watch this story told 100 more times. Bravo to Zach Braff and the entire cast and crew.
Gran drama, crudo, doloroso pero a la vez con un lado hermoso y tierno. Como en todas las películas de este tipo las actuaciones son mas que importantes y tanto Florence Pugh como Morgan Freeman la descosen.
I usually like Zach's movies but I found this one boring and cliché and Florence never gets out of that tormented girl character, it's boring
A Zach Braff joint. Which, admittedly, I'm a sucker for this kind of thing. It brings the emotional heat in an intense story of grief, regret, pain, and how life can change in an instant. It just felt very real. A reality-facing and embracing drama in how it turns toward the suffering, but also toward the beauty.
I laughed, I cried (several times), and I was deeply moved by the performances of Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman in A Good Person. This film captures the complexity of grief in a way I’ve rarely seen, portraying how people cope with loss, addiction, alcoholism, and abuse. These are heavy topics, but the film’s portrayal is raw and beautiful, giving space to different ways people process pain. Pugh and Freeman deliver powerful performances that make the story feel incredibly authentic and heartfelt. I highly recommend this film, though it’s worth noting that some themes may be triggering for certain viewers. This isn’t just a movie; it’s an emotional journey that stays with you long after the credits roll.
This movie is awesome. Nothing "excessive" about its sentimentality. You're either on board for the ride or you're not. RT's evaluation of the audience consensus is accurate. not sure what "busy and baggy" means, but it definitely isn't a movie that features long takes of people walking in silence or any of that...
A very soulful and heart warming story about love, friendship and relationships that go beyond. Morgan Freeman and Florence Pugh give their excellent performance that pulls in the viewer into the movie by pushing all emotions that their characters experience onto the viewer. It also subtly informs about the opioid crisis that is prevalent in society and how it affects people. Excellent family movie that can make you feel good at the end of the day.
A movie with meaning . Will stay with you long after it has finished .
It's been a while since I saw this movie but I think it's interesting that the audience loved it but the critics didn't. I am a recovering alcoholic and know many recovering addicts. The acting was excellent and the issues were realistic. It moved me. I cried and still think about it. I was very taken with Florence Pogh and have watched more movies with her just because she was in them. I thought she should have received an Oscar for her job in this movie.
One of the best movies about addiction, grief and PTSD I have ever seen. Can't believe the negative reviews. Fabulous acting.
I’m not sure what’s up with the low critic reviews, but I really enjoyed this movie. Excellent acting, great story, just overall very engaging. Recommend!
I thought from the first 15 minutes this movie was going to be spurious, but I am glad I kept watching. The ride of emotions that took flight had me hoping for the best outcome, but another twist of fate came to throw the storyline in a spin. Morgan Freeman, amazing and reliable as ever with Florence Pugh delivering a performance of raw and grit and Celeste O'Connor leaving no emotion hidden as a grieving orphan. A serious and emotional movie.
A deeply moving story, touching on grief, addiction, and the realities and challenges faced through unspeakable loss. Tragic and heartwarming all at the same time.
A very impressive movie that is heart breaking and powerful. I think the cast was amazing and the story is excellent. Plus Bryce Dessner always makes great music. Such a good movie.
This is a really powerful movie with some great performances. Florence Pugh should have been nominated for an Oscar
Addiction movies always get me a little - but Pugh somehow just comes across pouty in this one. She accidentally kills people in a car wreck and then gets stuck on opiods. Freeman plays the father of one of the girls she killed.
i was looking a GOOD feel good movie and this check all the boxes for me. I laughed, got angry and cried. good story and better n performances.
I don't care what anyone is going to say about this movie but I'll tell you right now having Morgan Freeman n Florence Pugh makes it so special to see both actors working together on movie and beautiful storytelling to hands down to the actors and the writers and the people who put their time and effort into this movie it goes to show that when you go through something in your life there's always hope at the end of the tunnel and there's always someone that is willing to help you regardless of the situation and that's what this movie show us such a beautiful movie very heartwarming 🍿 ❤️
