A Good Person Reviews
Beyond words. This movie left me speechless. It moved me to my core. Performances where spotless so was the writing and Florence Pugh definitely deserves an Oscar.
Excellently done - cannot fault any of the actors. Sad story but hopeful
Real and raw, and tissues will be needed.
Excellent portrayals by ALL the actors/characters!! Bravo for showing the power of believing in something or someone, and acting on those beliefs. ALSO . . . excellent way to show a variety of ways people cope with grief, anger, and the importance of forgiveness. We need more movies that empower those who we overlook, ignore, forget about, etc. . . . . . .
A compelling and unique story that kept my eyes welling up for 80% of the movie.
Great performances from Morgan Freeman and Florence Pugh in this film about overcoming deep pain and sorrow brought on by massive loss.
A melodrama about addiction, grief, and healing, Pugh and Freeman shine - as always - enough to help a cliched script and flat directing remain interesting enough. A few powerful scenes between the two leads may stay with you, but much of the rest is forgettable. Still, it was entertaining enough to spend two hours without getting bored.
Like the movie but a little drawn out
Loved this movie!! Morgan Freeman never disappoints and Florence Pugh was so so amazing !!
Saw this movie last night, and as expected, it was AMAZING. Great story, great acting, and well directed (understatement of the week.) Unlike the Marvel work, or its like, I really believe the world of "A Good Person" exists, which gives it the ability to touch our hearts, And it does. Normally, it's especially hard for big stars like Flo and Morgan to be believed as anything BUT stars. But in this movie they ARE their characters, Ali & Daniel. It takes superb direction to make this happen, and Mr. Braff had done just that!
excellent movie, pulls a great story that is 100% relevant to today's world.
Theres was nothing not to like! It made you smile,it made you laugh and it made you cry. It was a great movie!!!
This movie is a true masterpiece. The emotions captured are so true to life that watching it is cathartic and heart wrenching for anyone who has experienced loss or loved somebody with addiction. The cinematography is beautiful, the score is perfectly matched, and Pugh and Freeman deliver characters that transcend acting and feel like real life people that you love. There are artsy scenes that make anyone who loved Garden State gleefully nostalgic, and for those who are not long time Zach Braff fans there are moments of laughter to motivate you to persevere through the inevitable tears. I have debated writing this review because giving my only honest criticism feels like an affront to a movie I will likely rotate into my favorites for decades to come. The unfortunate misstep I feel this movie made, is two moments where Morgan Freemans character essentially breaks Pughs anonymity from the program. In the first moment he dances around it saying he isnt supposed to say where he saw Pugh, so perhaps that could be seen as not breaking anonymity, but in another scene Daniel shares that Allison is his friend from the program with his granddaughter. While I understand that these moments are essential to the direction the movie goes in, these moments would be better served by there at least being some more hesitation from Daniel. If we are to believe that Daniel has been working his 12 step program for quite some time, then it would be hard to believe he would so willingly discard anonymity. If you are not familiar with 12 step fellowships these moments probably wont make much of a difference to you, but for those who have sought support in those rooms-those moments take you out of the realness that the rest of the movie presents. If those scenes were different, in my eyes this movie would truly be perfect.
Very well acted movie! Florence Pugh & Morgan Freeman! As well as other actors and actress parts! drama filled! Comedy amazing moments!
What a surprisingly good film. The previews made this look like a Lifetime movie, so I expected very low quality and instead I got remarkable performances by Florence Pugh, Morgan Freeman, and Molly Shannon.
Wonderful and emotional story!

Typical feel good movie. Great acting, excessive profanity.
