Aladdin Reviews

Despite all of Aladdin’s other achievements, it may be most significant for providing Williams what he has until now been deprived: the perfect film role, one that can accommodate his machine-gun delivery.

| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Dec 16, 2024

Though at times his endless gabbing makes you want to stuff him back into the lamp, Williams is perfectly cast here.

As if they had their own magic lamp and resident Genie, but with limitless wishes, the folks from Disney seem to never run out of miracles.

| Dec 16, 2024

Aladdin, Disney's latest animated treat, is a wish come true.

| Original Score: 4/4 | Dec 16, 2024

This is Disney at its technical best and seemingly determined to set so frenetic a pace that nobody can possibly get bored, even by Tim Rice's terrible Academy-awarded lyrics.

The film-makers have adopted a snappy visual style in the M온라인카지노추천 mode and the animation skills are undeniable. But the result is off-putting, an ancient fable frenetically modernised.

| Original Score: 2/4 | Dec 16, 2024

Walt Disney Studios now finds itself in the comfortable position of having outdone everyone. No one does it better. The challenge remains to outdo itself. Good luck.

| Original Score: 8/10 | Dec 16, 2024

Reviewers have referred knowingly to the elegant Thief of Baghdad, but I would say the Arabism here is more on the level of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. And then Robin Williams comes along and saves the movie from possible embarrassment.

| Dec 16, 2024

Earlier dispatches had indicated that Williams' Genie stole Aladdin. That's wrong. He pretty much is Aladdin.

| Dec 16, 2024

Aladdin is as much a triumph of imagination as it is of animation.

| Dec 16, 2024

Manic, magic, ballooning with mischief, Aladdin busts the speed limit and smashes the record for animated mayhem and achievement. It's hip and flip and more fun than new toys or falling in love.

| Original Score: 4/4 | Dec 16, 2024

There's so much in Aladdin that at least two viewings are probably needed to take it all in. You emerge from the cinema wondering what they slipped in that Coke you bought in the foyer.

| Dec 16, 2024

A better title for the latest Disney animated musical would be "Genie," because Robin Williams steals the show.

| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Dec 16, 2024

It doesn't have the classic stature of Beauty and the Beast, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. It's so delightful that it's hard to imagine how it could be any more enjoyable.

| Original Score: 10/10 | Dec 16, 2024

Mr. Williams and his nimble free-association gifts couldn't ask for a better showcase. It's as if his torrent of words had suddenly been made flesh -- or rather, cel.

The magical, the mystical, the mysterious -- all those powers that lurk within movies but are rarely tapped are unleashed in Disney's latest magnificent animation, Aladdin.

| Dec 6, 2019

Aladdin is a film of wonders. To see it is to be the smallest child, open-mouthed at the screen's sense of magic, as well as the most knowing adult, eager to laugh at some surprisingly sly humor.

| Nov 19, 2013

What makes this animated feature such intense, giddy fun is the eruption of uninhibited parody that Robin Williams provides as the voice of the Genie in Aladdin's lamp.

Although the film in no way measures up to the features made under Disney's personal supervision, it does contain some far more imaginative and adept animation than the last several post-Walt titles. Aladdin is a marvel of the cartoonist's art.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Nov 19, 2013

Disney's latest animated feature is a thoroughly satisfying musical-comedy romp.
