Arthur Christmas Reviews
A very creative and charming Christmas movie that was such a pleasant surprise with just how damn good it is despite slipping past my radar for over a decade. It such a thoughtful and caring story with wonderfully fleshed out characters who are all very well realized with their individual strengths and flaws with great comedy and heartfelt conflict felt throughout the film. The way this movie tries to answer how the hell Santa Claus can deliver all the world’s Christmas presents in just one night is insanely creative and is presented on such a grand large scale that is so much fun to watch unfold (or in this case, unwrap). The voice cast is terrific and the dry British humor had me laughing throughout the movie. Everyone is humanized and there is refreshingly no official villain in this film despite some understandable interference from the Older brother Steve and the perplexed United Nations. This movie introduces so many fascinating concepts to reimagine Santa, from the generation is St Nicks passing down the mantle, to the subterranean lair hiding the North Pole yuletide operations, to the whole operation being treated like NASA running a stealth espionage mission for the world’s largest aircraft delivery system. The ending conclusion is very heartwarming and definitely earns its happy ending. Easily one of the best Christmas movies of the 21st century.
My 5-year-old nephew loved it -- watched it three times in two days -- and I liked it too! It's quick-paced and has some pretty funny bits (nod to the Grandpa Santa), which is just what you want in a kid's movie. The concept is quite entertaining too and gives it a freshness that is counter to the typical Christmas fare.
A slow burning classic. Gaining fans and accolades every year. With good reason. It's more inventive and funnier, smarter, more watchable and simply better than pretty much of the other modern day Christmas "classics". It's a joy from beginning to end.
Amazing animation, amazing voice cast and a brilliant story.
My family’s Christmas Eve watch every year
An absolute must include in every Christmas movie rotation.
Watch this every year with the kids, it’s a cracking film that does a great job of ‘updating’ the Santa delivery mechanism. Fantastic cast, very funny and it will become a mainstay of your Christmas.
Arthur Christmas is an exhilarating take on the classic Christmas story, full of whimsey, heart, and humor for both young and old alike. A must watch for all holiday-movie enjoyers
This Christmas film hits on all the important aspects of the holiday including family and the spirit of giving, without hitting you over the head with it. Arthur Christmas is a must see family film.
I Love this movie Its a Must watch during Christmas
This is the lowest review I could give. Trash movie. Don’t waste your time
It's genuine and actually pretty funny. Definitely worth a watch at least once each year.
There may be some movies that are objectively better but this is the only christmas movie that is non-negotiable for me. Every year I watch this at least 3 times. I will love this movie for all of time, it gives a halfway new take on Santa Claus which this late in that characters mythos is a feat indeed. A truly beautiful and hilarious movie that also manages to look awesome [thanks to aardman being full of geniuses] a good bit past a decade later.
Best Christmas movie ever!
Really good movie, but they should have used Aardman's iconic Stop Motion style instead of the ugly character designs used in the Computer Animation.
I absolutely love this movie! Me and my family watch this movie every Christmas Eve and it is one of my favourite traditions. This movie is great for young kids and the oldest grandparents with something for everyone to enjoy, it has a happy ending and isn’t too long. Great movie to watch around Christmas time as it is also very funny.
I love this movie, I watch it every Christmas. This is truly a modern Christmas classic
Arthur Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas animated movies from 2011 I give this film a 10/10
absolute joy to watch, fun festive funny film.
