Blazing Saddles Reviews
This should be required viewing in every middle school... with a little history lesson.
I'm sure Blazing Saddles was hilarious once upon a time, but in 2025, most of its gags aren't very funny.
Mel Brooks' comedy classic (and his magnum opus in my opinion) "Blazing Saddles" never gets old and has certainly stood the test of time. It always impresses me when a comedy can still be funny after repeated viewings. That can certainly be said for "Blazing Saddles" as well as Brook's other movies "Young Frankenstein" and "High Anxiety". The roles are perfectly cast. The late Cleavon Little is nothing short of excellent as Sherriff Bart. The same can be said for the late Gene Wilder as the Waco Kid. This review would not be complete without mentioning the late Harvey Korman as the villain Hedley Lamarr. From the terrific songs ("You'll be surprised you're doing The French Mistake VOILA!), to the great jokes and sight gags, "Blazing Saddles" is a must see that I cannot recommend more. You will not be disappointed. Meeting is adjourned. It is?
Absolute classic Mel Brooks amazingness. Another great cast and hilarious parody that tackles topics ahead of its time.
OK - it's a western parody and it does a good job in this regard. However the jokes of the 1970s are no longer relevant for a 2020s audience. I understand it was a pioneering comedy act from acclaimed Mel Brooks - and I am a fan of Mel. Just not a fan of the jokes in this movie, and not because of their dark nature. It's more like a good wine that would become better with age, but it's been too long in the bottle and is past it drinking age. The acting was on-point, which is its saving grace.
Hilarious! I haven't laughed this much in years. So offensive but it has heart. Definitely recommend!
An absolute comic masterpiece and the centerpiece of free speech in film. A bastion of comedy freedom no one would dare make today. What a trailblazer!
It was a blast to see this movie on the big screen.
This classic comedy still packs a punch after 50 years and deserves to be appreciated for the gem it is — one of Mel Brooks all time best films.
A hilarious classic. I can understand why they say this film wouldn't be able to be made today though.
Absolute Must see for everyone this was one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen in my life laughed my ass off the whole way through
Timeless, timeless classic. I laughed like a total idiot once again and embarrassed my girlfriend thoroughly. I'd see it again. And again. And of course again.
Great movie absolutely hilarious
Mel Brooks' magnun opus!
Still holds up after 50 years. Absolutely hilarious.
This is one of the best comedies in history
One of the funniest movies of all time !!!
Maybe this is because I'm gen z but primo :gene wilder not that good of an actor sorry Second:pacing is pretty bad Third :the actors wernt that good ,there were a lot of good jokes but they wernt executed well Aldo I've gotta say Mel brooks is quite a genius in his movies this one just felt eh .I honestly didn't mind the absurdity that's the best part but the actors and editing as in pacing was just bad.
Far and away one of the greatest comedies ever made, Mel Brooks delivers an outrageously hilarious and unashamedly offensive film that works on every level.
