BloodRayne Reviews
A little bit better than the second movie, but it fails in almost every aspect. The heroine is really weak, and the movie never actually gets going. Good cast for the quality of the movie, but instead of saving it they just help to bury it. At least there is a lot of blood i guess
Uwe boll is to action horror video game adaptations what team of friedberg and seltzer are to spoof parodies he cannot make anything good out of it and the result is a godawful and atrocious mess that wastes the talents of actors you know from popular movies and even a musician and singer. How did they manage to get Ben Kingsley to be in this travesty is beyond me if he wanted to play a vampire that badly he could have just went to some director and screeenwriter and producer to make a vampire movie and put him in there as a main lead at least any kind but a one that is a video game adaptation from uwe boll because of this you ended up giving the worst most cringe inducing performance of your career. The wigs look fake, the production design, lighting imagery and looks all look of that of a made for tv film it’s lifeless and also the camerawork was just messy I absolutely hated the main charachter and how poorly she was performed by kristanna lokken who didn’t even appear as the charachter again in the sequals which they made for some reason despite the utter failure of this 2006 film it is possibly the very worst film of the year it came out no competition, the story is also nonsensical and incoherent and the fencing scenes were just dull and boring and you couldn’t tell how one begins and the other ends because of the awful editing and camerawork. I literally wanted to walk out and take a nap while seeing it it was that bad and everyone should agree whoever likes this film has a poor taste in films and should go to a mental institute because this movie brings out the worst in the film and entertainment industry itself and is equally an insult and offense to any moviegoer as well as those who even make or understand the quality of films this is the perfect example of how not to make a film and now we can all understand why uwe boll is the one and only modern day ed wood he is not cinemetic worthy whatsoever and calling him the worst and most hated in Hollywood would be a complete offense to Hollywood itself he doesn’t belong nor should be involved with Hollywood at all he is just some cheap low budget made for tv director from Europe who’s films had no place anywhere in the popular of cinema and this bloody🩸🩸disgusting piece of loathsome schlock is a must avoid for everyone 0/5
This was a movie that summoned me to watch it... 4% critics and 17% audience ratings on RT... I had to see how bad it was, even if it was way below my usual RT rating watchability threshold (typically I won't watch anything under a 50% audience rating, no matter how good the critics' ratings are). Okay, first up... absolutely terrible acting and dialogue. If you can make Ben Kingsley look D grade, it really has to be bad... plus the directing must be bad as well. Of course, you get the ridiculous swordplay... what is it with all these movies and fighters spinning around, presenting their backs to their opponents in the middle of swordfights? The 2 main positives... watching Kristanna Loken and Michelle Rodriguez, despite their terrible acting and dialogue. Sorry, they are the only 2 positives. If you're in the mood for sheer, dumb action, taking a swig with every closeup sword on body slicing scene, this is the movie for you.
Los efectos son terribles las actuaciones son terribles los personajes son insoportable y terribles es completamente gringe y aburridaaa es un 1.7 de 10
Garbage. So many holes in plot and acting shocking. I think 4% is generous.
"BloodRayne" is a period vampire revenge story based on the game of the same name. However I was not quite sure when in time it was supposed to be based, as the movie fails to explain or establish its era. "BloodRayne" transports the audience into a weird fantasy World with over the top high octane action, real slasher moments and some stolen "Matrix" style scenes. It's hard to place "BloodRayne" into any sort of category as the film is trying to be a number of different genres. The sets are good and the splatter, gore is constant but the script however is not great and the CGI is quite poor. I would suggest it is trying to be a sort of romantic, action, horror but unfortunately fails on pretty much all counts. "BloodRayne" boasts a terrific cast but given some of the lacklustre performances, the director definitely didn't get the best or make the most of the actors he had on set. I definitely expected more from Kristanna Loken, Billy Zane, Meatloaf and Ben Kingsley. It is however a watchable movie with some fun moments ( sometimes not for the right reasons ) and horrifically gory scenes but it's nothing more than another video game that does not translate well when given the big screen adaptation.
An absolute crime against humanity bloodrayne is truly one of the worst films and insults to the cinema industry uwe boll cannot direct whatsoever and everything looks bad from the swords to the production values everything looks fake and ugly and unconvincing what is Ben Kingsley doing in this movie he's a great actor how could he do this to ruin his career I hated him here the looks on his faces look like he wants to be anywhere else and that he is sleep walking not knowing what he was thinking or going for the acting from loken was atrocious Rayne is a bland and dull charachter and it has some of the worst vampire depictions ever to put it more simple this is the worst movie of 2006 whoever likes this film needs to be either taken to a doctor or have his brain removed this movie must not be liked by anyone it is a piece of horse manure avoid it at all costs 0/10 F-
Didn't start out so good and sadly got worse from there. At least there was a challenge to it in getting through to an end that fulfilled all expectations of being ridiculously horrid. Not even worth laughing at.
I spent about 20 minutes watching this movie today on Prime Video. Who do I need to speak to to get those 20 minutes of my life back? To call the movie one dimensional would be implying that it has any dimensions whatsoever. Bad script, flat characters, cheap CGI and editing that was done by an intern on their first day away from school. And those are the movie's GOOD qualities.
OK. It's a movie based on a video game. But they decided to take the core idea behind that game and make a damn good action flick with some other elements mixed in. Watched this a dozen times at least. Does it deserve 5 stars? probably not I'd normally give it 3.5 but I just feel compelled to do something to offset such an injustice.
Somewhere in here is supposed to be the video games story right? I have no idea what I just watched but it wasn't Bloodrayne.
The brave production setting has gotten further tainted by this disinteresting, abysmally performed, incoherently cinematographed mess, which is far from the better recommendations in both "Underworld" and "Resident Evil". (C-)
While better acted and boasting better cinematography than The House of the Dead, BloodRayne is still a shoddily made video game movie from the "talented" mind of Uwe Boll with a script that a 10-year-old could write in their sleep and action sequences that are just bloody and gory out of some misguided shout-out to Quentin Tarantino.
This movie contains many sub-plots yet because it's based on a video game, it's also very difficult to say as side missions. Other than that, "BloodRayne" is not intended for fans of the video game, fans of movies, or fans of vampire culture, unless you want to find sex, this movie is for you. Uwe Boll explores an ambiguous study character, better than any Terrence Malick films about ecocriticism or any PTA movies about the meaning of life. This movie is like a drug; don't watch it too much.
Poor production, script, acting, photography, fight choreography,... cannot think of anything that was a good as mediocre.
