Bloody Hell Reviews
This was a wild ride! Finally, a comedy horror that’s actually fun & unexpected. What’s next from this guy? We’re waiting…
Great dark comedy/horror/suspense film. I really didn't see the ending coming, but it was a good one. Recommended!
Very unique script. 👌
A bloody hell of a time! Ben OTool gives an outstanding performance in this psychological dark comedy. A great balance of psychological character study, insanely fun and creative violence and gore, and dry matter of fact humor. The pacing was perfect for the runtime, and even when the protagonist is stuck in one spot for a good amount of the time, the direction and editing allowed for an interesting character study, which all the more makes him more likable and has you rooting for him by the third act when the action goes off the rails.
This movie is action packed and bloody, intensely gory where severed body parts are used as weapons. If cannibalism makes you sick don't watch this! I can't find any sources claiming the lead actor Ben O'Toole is a direct relative of Robert Downey Jr, but I will admit that the resemblance is uncanny. Long story short, an über soldier (Rex) heroically stops a bank robbery but inadvertently gets a bystander killed. He is catapulted into tabloid celebrityhood, being both famous and infamous, and goes to Finland to run away from it. He ends up being shackled deep inside a dark basement. This movie has been called a fairytale because there is a damsel in distress and Rex is the brave knight who came to save her even if he doesn't know it yet, even if he doesn't want to. A very satisfying fairytale like ending nonetheless.
Great acting. Clever writing. Plot keeps your attention and has a finale that leaves you very satisfied. Enjoyed this film.
A well-deserved 90%+ horror flick, done in a serious yet often amusing way. Robert Downey Jr.'s son Ben O'toole was a solid lead. Enjoyed its attempt to be unique, it didn't fall flat.
The twists and turns of the Australian export Bloody Hell may be too disorienting for most, but Ben O'Toole's star turn as two separate versions of the same character should not be overlooked.
Absolutely Positively Irreconcilably. Amazing main actor and fellow actors, but story, editing, directing and sound all waver into this being such a BLAST to watch... Go in blind as i did almost, the trailer doesn't portray it as good as it is! And im not a huge comedy horror lover but this is just pure action editing horror madness popcorn fun! Ps you'll care too! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really good! I didn't know about Pati, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up when I heard him.
'Bloody Hell' is an Australian comedy-horror flick that has tons of gore. This is fun and Ben O'Toole makes a huge splash channeling his inner Nick Cage and Robert Downey, Jr. There is so much over the top, but it works. It is straightforward and funny and doesn't waste much time. Well crafted by Alister Grierson and worth a watch. Final Score: 8/10
I found this movie by accident on Shudder. Once a month or less, I will run across a great movie. This is one of them. It has humor, action and off beat horror. It is definitely worth watching. Sean in Oregon
Okay. This movie is ridiculous and in a bad way. The so called "Finnish" family are not Finnish. This movie is worst ever.
Very funny and entertaining. Worth a watch for sure.
this was absolutely fantastic. disclaimer: i had LOW expectations going into it so that may be why. but i loved every second of it. it was hilarious & fairly action-packed; i'm not sure that i'd classify it as horror. but I really enjoy a good revenge story where the victim just obliterates everyone who deserves it - & i think i'd put this in that category. would recommend.
This is a blackly humorous horror-thriller, and is quite brilliantly executed by Alister Grierson, particularly as the hero, normally the action figure of such stories, is tied to the ceiling and missing a leg for most of the film. You might think that would slow down the pace, but director Grierson keeps it tearing along. I usually stop and start when reviewing a movie, but this one I gulped down in one sitting, then came back for details. Super boring. Not horror or scary at all. SO MUCH TALKING. Tries to be funny but isnt. The entire first hour hes hung up just talking to himself. its so boring nothing happens. For an hour straight hes literally just hung up by the arms talking to himself, I had to forward because I was falling asleep and even after i forwarded its still super boring. The last half hour doesn't make up for it at all. Huge waste of time.
