Boogie Reviews
For a movie that boasts of cultural struggle, there seems to be a huge lack of it. The movie had so much potential to be a game changer for representation of the Asian American community. But instead of focusing on the elements that show the struggle of Chinese stereotypes, it keeps all the attention on the main character’s personal issues. The acting is pretty great but it’s not strong enough to make up for such a weak plot.
Good movie and interesting to watch. My disappointment was the swearing using the “F-bomb.”
Good acting and casting, story was fairly simple and hard to believe.
The plot was good and the storyline was good. I enjoyed this movie I just thought the ending would have been more detailed.
The plot was good but I didnt lake how it ended. No closure with Boogie and Elenor relationship
A cool story about growing up and fighting for yourself in the face of struggle and cultural responsibility. I really enjoyed it :)
it's cool bad ending
We liked it. It was the typical coming of age story. I personally enjoyed the mix of the Asian American experience in the hip hop culture. And, we didnt know Pop Smoke acted in this film. I will be buying on digital download.
Unrealistic but it’s funny how it’s not, when you think about it, but it’s kinda cool... like an asian ‘he got game’
mad dope, cool way to look at other cultures and how they live in the states.
Stupid horrible filming Just horrible
It was a coming of age movie. I thought it was based on a real life story but it wasn't. I didn't hate it but I did expect the movie to have a little more resolution with the parents and the main character. Maybe that is what I hoped for.
It was a good story language was a little bit inapporiate
Profanity was out of control. Really no need for it. Poor acting.
It was a good movie rip pop smoke
Went to see the movie with my teenage daughters and they enjoyed watching the rapper POP SMOKE. The story line was good but the actors were - Meh.
RIP POP SMOKE THE BIG WOO 💫💫💫
not a slow part on the movie. it was a great movie about Chinese culture in today's world.
Very beautiful movie, Eddie Huang is effortful with his filmmaking.
It was an ok movie. Great for those who are into basketball. Did not like the way it ended.
