Paul Greengrass, who also directed 'The Bourne Supremacy, continues his rough and ready style of choreographing complex action scenes on location 'and throwing the audience into the middle of the chaos...

Unless the spectator is prepared to relinquish his or her ability to reflect on things almost entirely for two hours or so, Greengrass's film does not stand up to close scrutiny.

Greengrass knows how to shoot action. There is a hand-to-hand combat scene in Morocco that is as exciting, chaotic and violent as any sequence in the Bourne movies, I just wish he had spent more time on the moments between the mayhem.

Resembles everything seen in the previous two movies, but with a focus on intensification and grandiosity.

The Bourne Trilogy is a shining example of a single story told over three parts...

The third Bourne instalment is not just the best of the franchise, but also one of the finest and most forceful action releases of the past decade.

Bourne's aim may be righteous, but it is also most definitely self-serving.

Damon excels as the taciturn former assassin who regrets his past wrongs even though he can't clearly remember them. As with the previous two installments, the supporting cast is top-notch.

As an action film, The Bourne Ultimatum is in a class of its own.

[Greengrass'] skillful use of handheld cameras and rapid fire editing help make this a truly visceral experience.

t's full of tension, but it's also disturbing on another level: it's hard not to be reminded of recent events.

This is really great action cinema.

Director Paul Greengrass returns to guide the cast as they run furiously around the streets of London, Madrid, Tangiers and New York, and the genre material benefits greatly from his paranoid documentary style.

Unsuspecting punters may think, 'Well, I've seen the first two, so I might as well find out how the story ends' -- but, if so, they're going to be disappointed.

If it feels like a non-stop demolition derby, at least there's a responsible driver at the wheel. The British director Paul Greengrass makes everything seem more plausible with twitchy camerawork and even twitchier editing.

When camera operators are moving around a set more than the actors, it may be time to scale back a bit. Fortunately, Bourne finds some sort of violent pick-me-up at each stop on his worldwide vengeance tour.
