Conclave Reviews
I loved this film. Great actors amazing storyline. Then the ending. The ending is why I hve no need to watch this movie again. That was a huge let down. Not bc of how it ended ie the storyline but bc of how the ending was told, acted, directed. It shld have been acted better & told better. The film deserved more. It deserved a stomach churning reaction ending.
I wish I could give it zero stars. Just another blasphemous movie about my Catholic faith. I dare someone in Hollywood to make a movie mocking Muhammad on screen. The ending reveals that the newly elected Pope, Cardinal Benitez, is intersex.
Extremely disappointing ending
Panalo. Napapanahon na pelikula. Deserving na manalo ng Oscars. Nakakahinayang lang na pinalitan un character ni Benitez ng Mexican na dapat e pinoy talaga sa libro. Swak din un twist sa dulo na talagang ma shoshock ka
Brilliantly cast, gorgeously shot & eerily timely.
Definitely watchable Intriguing Very relevant at this time
Incredible directing. Honestly, the story itself wouldn't be interesting without the directing, which just highlights how good the directing was. Great acting, too. Well written. Ancient tradition meets the modern world. Men shrouded in mystery and reverence are humanized by wordless glimpses.
Ralph Fiennes masterclass, gripping storyline and a few plot twists, loved this movie and will definitely watch it again.
An insult to Catholics and the Catholic Church. While Catholics have utmost concern for those born with sexual differences, the Church teachings around priesthood and the papacy are unchanging. One must be a biological male to be validly ordained. Would you present a similar storyline about Islam or Judaism? Why does society think it’s acceptable to present distortions of Catholic Church teachings? This film is fictitious at best and discriminatory at worst.
Wasn't what I was expecting, interesting outcome
Extraordinário, maravilho esse filme, te prende do começo ao fim show
Varias tomas de #conclave son una obra de arte de fotografia y dan ganas de imprimirlas y enmarcarlas, deberian sacar un libro de prints
Very interesting movie, great plot. Great actors and OMG, the images and filmmaking look like paintings!! A bit disappointed by the 5 last minutes of the movie though.
A fine emotional film set within the mystery walls of the Vatican City. Ralf Fiennes plays one of his very best roles, together with Stanley Tucci, making it a must watch.
Conclave is a gripping, atmospheric drama that delves into high-stakes decision-making behind closed doors. With a slow-burn narrative, the film thrives on tense, dialogue-heavy moments rather than action. The performances are layered and nuanced, particularly the central character’s journey between duty and personal belief. The setting is a character in itself, with its cold, echoing spaces. Thought-provoking and intellectually engaging, Conclave is a must-watch for those who appreciate subtle, character-driven storytelling.
Perfectly fine movie then actually pointless political plot twist to end the movie.
Pope Joan meets The Crying Game.
Considering recent events I thought this would be an interesting watch and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Incredible acting across the board, this felt tense and gripping even with scenes of cardinals voting. It's tone is like a murder mystery with revelations coming to light that affect the plot. Sound design and music are also standout adding to the tension. Definitely worth a watch if you like a slow burn mystery with some twists and turns with great performances.
A thought provoking film with a credible and gripping plot and superb acting.
Not bad until the ridiculous ending!
