Copshop Reviews
Horrible acting the black female lead sucked! The gun fights were horrible. It took zero imagination what should happen next id rate it zero stars but it's not an option. Don't waste your time with this trash
talk talk talk, action talk talk talk, action, talk..... See something else.
It's predictable and pretty abysmal, with the big names phoning in their roles for a payday.
Enjoyed the banter between the characters.
Copshop has moments but, overall, the script is so implausible that it can't maintain the credibility. Professional killers who somehow can't shoot straight when the target is needed for future scenes and who can't seem to check to see that they've really killed the person they apparently pumped multiple bullets into, allowing that person to pop back up later in the script seemingly without serious injury? Give me a break!
A must see movie of his type
70/100 - ammo is plentiful for everyone. sometimes they reload after 10 bullets, sometimes after 400. lol. if you can suspend your disbelief in that area its a decent movie with off kiltered comedy.
Joe Carnahan is Great. need more and more from him
Over the top and very good set pieces, but forget the script none of it makes any sense whatsoever.
"Cop Shop" centers around a con man, played by Frank Grillo, who is trying to forcefully seek asylum from dangerous men who are after him. He does this by getting arrested for assault and taken to the local jail at Gun Creek. Gerard Butler's character follows soon after, and the whole precinct finds themselves in the crossfire of an increasingly dangerous situation. I admire this film for its creativity and its set up. It does a good job of putting the audience in the POV of our hero and asking them what they would do in that situation. Who do you trust, and what can you do? The characters are also very entertaining. They aren't necessarily grounded in their portrayal, but they are certainly memorable. The conversations they have feel natural and injects a good amount of humor to the bleak situation. Despite this being a very gritty action movie, I had myself a good time from beginning to end. The story does seem to fast forward some of the motivations. There are some plot points that I look back on and question. But what it boils down to is simple enough. This guy doesn't like this guy, and now they are going to fight. There are a few bits that ask me to suspend disbelief a little too far. Somethings that definitely should have killed someone doesn't seem to work, and some bits of timing are a little too convenient. But overall, this was a real good time. Next time you are shopping for an action film, stop by this one.
Copshop was a surprisingly good action film from start to finish. Director Joe Carnahan know's how to craft a good action movie and does so very well here. Alexis Louder really shines as the standout here and is fun to watch in every scene. Frank Grillo and Gerard Butler are also really good here. In fact this may be some of Gerard Butler's best work in a while. The story is pretty easy to follow here and won't win any awards for best screenplay. Still the action and the dialogue are very entertaining. The movie also flys by fast with a very nice runtime. I really enjoyed Copshop and I know action fans will enjoy it as well. Copshop gets a solid 3 1/2 stars out of 5 from me.
I watched this for the sake of Gerard Butler, and honestly, it's the only reason I watched it all the way through - This film was lame. SO lame. This is the most tryhard film if ever there was one
For Grank Grillo's mustache alone! Also Alexis Louder has some serious acting chops. Hope they make a sequel.
I enjoyed it. Too many smart arses on here posting over clever reviews
A mess of a movie but Gerald Butler makes it interesting and a good time
Copshop is fun but very basic. I enjoyed it but wouldn't bother watching it again.
This was a really good movie. Love the leading lady! Good action, good acting. Really enjoyed it.
Movie was watchable until they used the Lord's name in vain in the worst way ! If you don't believe in God, it's your prerogative. But, at least have respect for someone else's belief in the Almighty !
Simple in setup but slick in execution, Copshop is a stylish good time thanks to Joe Carnahan's assured direction.
A good little over the top action movie where a criminal gets himself arrested before certain bounty hunters come to collect his head and must rely on the police to protect him from certain death......Its entertaining to say the least.
