Creep 2 Reviews

Expanding upon the original in several unexpected ways, Creep 2 is the rare sequel that surpasses the original.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Nov 25, 2024

Akhavan's performance perfectly matches Duplass' weird energy and the inclusion of a woman (who isn't scared of Aaron) allows the film to better explore its themes of stranger danger and risky behaviour for exposure

| Original Score: 4/5 | Nov 20, 2024

The chemistry really holds the film together and the characters’ relationship is certainly worth a deeper analysis after more viewings. When it comes to any film with the number 2 in its title, there’s also an inherent promise of more of the same...

Creep 2 still feels like the handcrafted work of a few people, working at two or three locations, with a budget of no more than a few thousand dollars at most. It feels like they’re experimenting, which is a rare sensation for movie-watchers to experience

| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Oct 26, 2023

Just how Creep 2 picks up the story, with Girls actress Desiree Akhavan front and center as a hopeful YouTube star, is even more of a hoot.

I look forward to more creepiness

I just love that dark, weird awkward humor.

| Original Score: 8/10 | Apr 22, 2021

Creep 2 is the type of film that makes you squirm in your seat due to its uncomfortable nature, but your eyes remain glued to the screen because the thought of missing some crucial detail is just as horrific as a serial killer videotaping all of his kills

| Original Score: 4/5 | Sep 2, 2019

Manages to continue the blend of humor and horror that made the first film a success while offering new emotional twists of the macabre subject matter.

| Original Score: 4/5 | May 19, 2019

An ass-backwards love story for the morbidly strange.

| Original Score: 4/4 | Apr 10, 2019

They took some interesting turns in Creep 2 and those turns really make the sequel a fresh installment.

| Mar 19, 2019

A worthy sequel and a satisfying lo-fi thriller that manages to bring something new to the table without losing its voice.

| Original Score: 7/10 | Dec 26, 2018

Duplass's unforgettable performance, combined with his complicated relationship with Sara, a worthy foe, reminds me a lot of the Hannibal Lecter-Clarice Starling classic.

As in the original there are comedic moments, but also moments in which you don't know whether to bite your nails, not look or laugh out loud. [Full review in Spanish]

From impeccably timed comedy to white-knuckle, anxiety-inducing tension, Creep 2 delivers all the goods.

| Original Score: 4.5/5 | Jan 24, 2018

A decent followup...

| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Jan 24, 2018

The characters more than hold our interest, and their ghoulish pas-de-deux makes good viewing.

| Jan 24, 2018

Creep 2 is the perfect scary movie for people who loathe traditional horror films.

| Dec 20, 2017

The best horror films, in my opinion, forgo the cheap jump scares and aim to make you feel uneasy, vulnerable, and on guard. Creep 2 definitely has that quality in spades.

| Original Score: 8/10 | Nov 17, 2017

Creep 2 takes elements of its predecessor, primarily its comedy and emotional performances, and expands on them, creating something new and unique, instead of a retread of the first film.
