Creep 2 Reviews
This movie was really, really strange. More so than the original movie that is. I found it quite so strange that it might have been too much I suppose. Certainly not a typical horror movie but looking into the mind of a psychopath is intriguing yet also makes this movie unhinged. I found it an interesting watch however it was certainly not for the faint hearted and maybe, just too far in terms of the content of this movie being way too unhinged
Just as good as the first!
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
This is one of the few horror sequels that is better than the original. It takes everything that made Creep good and amplifies it. A common complaint with Creep is that Aaron doesn't see the red flags and keeps going with Josef. While I understand Aaron's reasoning of Josef just seeming like an eccentric person, this movie addresses that complaint well through our protagonist: Sara. She knew what she was getting into when she accepted Josef's job offer and she wants to stay with him to get footage for her show. Where this movie truly shines, however, is exploring Josef. We get a full deep dive into his character and how his mind works. We see him open up, reveal more about himself, and the suggestion that Buddy in the first movie was his nickname for Aaron makes it a lot creepier and better. The best part, however, is the ending, where Josef plans to kill him and Sara, against her will, because he's tired of living. Then Sara escapes, thankfully, but we see him following her. Then it ends. Just a brilliant sequel. Overall, an amazing sequel to Creep that enhances the stories of both movies.
Great movie not a typical scary movie but great
The first one was better.
Rarely does a sequel surpass its predecessor, but Creep 2 not only outdoes the original—it skyrockets into an entirely different league of brilliance. It’s an electrifying, mind-bending continuation of the story that manages to be darker, funnier, more unsettling, and, yes, 100,000 times better than the first film. If Creep was the pinnacle of found footage horror, Creep 2 raises the bar so high it’s hard to imagine anything else reaching it. Where Creep thrived on tension and ambiguity, Creep 2 takes bold creative risks, diving deeper into the psyche of its terrifying yet strangely magnetic antagonist, Josef—now going by the name Aaron. Mark Duplass delivers an absolutely unhinged, tour-de-force performance, leaning into the character’s blend of vulnerability and menace with unsettling charisma. This time, however, the dynamic shifts: Aaron is no longer simply the hunter. He meets his match in Sara, a fearless and determined filmmaker who answers his Craigslist ad, seeking something “different” for her failing web series. And boy, does she find it. Sara, played brilliantly by Desiree Akhavan, brings a fresh energy to the film that elevates it far beyond the typical sequel. Her boldness and refusal to cower in the face of Aaron’s increasingly bizarre and sinister behavior flips the dynamic entirely. Watching their twisted cat-and-mouse relationship unfold is mesmerizing. Sara isn’t just a passive victim—she’s an active participant, and her willingness to challenge Aaron’s persona creates some of the most nail-biting, tension-filled moments of the entire franchise. The film’s brilliance lies in its ability to balance psychological horror with dark humor. It’s wickedly funny at times, with Aaron delivering chilling monologues that are equal parts absurd and terrifying. Yet, beneath the humor, there’s a raw vulnerability to his character that makes him even more unpredictable and dangerous. You feel like you’re witnessing the unraveling of a monster in real time, and the results are both horrifying and fascinating. Creep 2 also pushes the boundaries of the found footage genre, offering even more inventive and unsettling cinematography. Director Patrick Brice creates an atmosphere of constant unease, using long, unbroken takes and eerie silences to keep the tension at a fever pitch. Every frame feels deliberate, every moment meticulously crafted to keep you on edge. And the twists? They’re masterful. Just when you think you’ve figured out the direction, the film pivots, leaving you breathless and completely unprepared for what’s next. The climactic moments are nothing short of genius, culminating in an ending that feels as shocking and satisfying as it is inevitable. Creep 2 is everything a sequel should be: bold, inventive, and unafraid to take risks. It deepens the mythology of the first film while standing on its own as a completely unique and unforgettable experience. It’s a rarity in horror—a follow-up that not only honors the original but transcends it in every way. For fans of the first film or anyone seeking a truly groundbreaking piece of psychological horror, Creep 2 isn’t just a recommendation—it’s a must-see. It’s the kind of movie that sticks with you, making you question everything you thought you knew about fear, manipulation, and what makes a sequel great. A modern masterpiece.
I feel it wasn't as strong as the first installment, but it still held its own. Duplass was great again. Could have done without the full on wang shot. The ending unfortunately fell flat and left too many logical questions and had glaring loose ends that made no sense.
So weird, so many plot twists that it started to not make sense lol
The docu-style horror flicks can be effective - but this one stalls out a little. Duplass is excellent at being psycho, but the ending gets too stretched to keep you in the storyline.
An entertaining sequel although I found it not as good as the original.
As fantastic as the first Creep is (and it IS; one of my favorites), #2 is so brilliant, it's as though Creep was made only so Creep 2 could be. And by that, I mean once I saw #2, the first Creep felt like a set-up to the second. It's almost as though the writers said, "What if this thing (the central plot of #2) happened?" "Oh. But wouldn't it be better if we established this character really well as [what we see in #1] first?" "Hey, why don't we make that character establishment a whole movie first?" Of course, I can't imagine that actually happened. But they did such an amazing job with #2 that it seems like it was planned from the beginning.
Beautifully executed, this is a unique found footage style film with great chemistry between actors.
Even better than the first one. Very suspenseful. Good setup. Creep 2 delivers the goods.
More creepy than scary. Slow burner.
good movie! wish he showed the dude in the first movie his peen instead tho :?
I prefer the original creep. This movie is good but I personally like the first one more. I belive that this movie doesn't offer as much of the unsafeness you feel with the original, but it explores a really great idea that isn't as heard from, the mc isn't as afraid in this movie but instead plays along with "Aaron". I recomend this movie if you like the first one :) Movie G
Charmingly twisted. The ending was lacklustre and pretty absurd but the lead up, acting and atmosphere was as stellar as in the first instalment.
One of the best found footage movies ever, great story and atmosphere/vibe
Bon film qui a un bon concept sur un tueur en série qui en a marre de tuer. Cependant ce concept et plutôt mal exploiter à l'écran surtout avec la fin qui est pas très intéressante. La VF est aussi catastrophique.
