Deadpool 2 Reviews
“Deadpool 2” caters to a big audience, most of whom have no problem gorging themselves on what amounts to cinematic junk food. But if you’re hungry for something with a slight bit of substance, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

Practically nothing in the sequel works from the repetitive and belabored jokes, to the wooden acting especially from Julian Dennison, to the underwhelming story, it’s bad. I truly hated it.

The flames are fattened, the bloodshed is bolstered, and the hail of hot lead is heightened as all of these wild elements compose a parade of profanity and dirty delights.

Overall, not as good as the first film. While the sequel is bigger and funnier, the story is more uneven. However, it does succeed in places where the previous one failed... it has [more] gravitas.

Although less cohesive and more meandering than the first, it's an entertaining sequel that pushes the franchise forward.

Deadpool 2 is somehow more exhausting, and somehow, still works pretty well.

There's a lot of swearing, a lot of dirty jokes, a lot of violence with limbs and body parts getting cut off left and right. Basically, the first Deadpool, just with double the fun.

Isn't as great as its predecessor was, but it sticks to its guns with enough panache to keep it afloat.

The movie's progressivism is a touch paradoxical but inviting: a boys' club that wants everyone to join.

It's all consistently funny, even if it's difficult to praise it for its originality.

It's far from perfect, but works extremely well in its corner of the cinematic universe as the antidote to the run of the mill superhero entry.

Like many sequels, it doesn't feel as fresh and original as the first only because we are now used to the character and what to expect. On the flip side, it's bolder, bigger, and definitely pushes the boundaries.

A vastly more derivative film.

In the first film, Deadpool scoffed and said, "That sounds like a f***ing franchise." Now, by becoming a franchise itself, Deadpool just sold out.

I couldn't overlook the smugness that seemed to come from a certain corner of Reddit, and I couldn't give myself over to the anarchy because the anarchy felt all too calculated.

Rather than skewering the superhero genre, it largely plays by the rules, and the result is a gripping action flick.

Deadpool 2 works perfectly fine in giving fans what they expect coming off the success of the original.

Deadpool 2 is just as irreverent and funny and violent and over-the-top as its predecessor.
