Deep Impact Reviews
Melodramatic drivel.
While certainly less absurd than its "twin film" Armageddon, there still isn't much more to like in this rather contrived excuse for special effects. The production design—from the spaceships to the costumes to James Horner's commendable score—does earn some points for being better pretty much across the board though.
Groudbreaking digital effects for 1998 and still fascinates me to this day "How on Earth did they do it"? Good plot with a healthy amount of character building. Shines a light on the human insight to such a "What if" situation. It may drag on a little for some.
It’s scientifically more accurate than Armageddon, but that’s it’s only strong point. The characters are bland and shallow, with very little intrigue or depth whatsoever. The script really moves like a textbook….instead of entertaining you and telling you a story, the bulk of the time is spent educating and convincing you why each part of the movie is practical.
The bittersweet grand finale makes up for the movie’s corny tone and sluggish pacing.
Uns dos melhores filmes dos anos 90
Please if there's excess cash in the coffers do something worthwhile instead of soaking up valuable time and resources on what really could have been shot on an android by stoners. Misses every mark possible. Really quite pathetic.
The characters are ok I guess and the story is nice, but the movie tries to be so sophisticated and no one comes to watch a so sophisticated movie.
My favorite apocalyptic movie of all time! Easy to follow story supported by a great cast.
Better than Armageddon, just not as flashy. Also, why didn't anyone follow up on the scientist's, who died at the beginning, work?
Apocalyptic event dramatised and americanised to a level you just have to watch, and rewatch! Lol. It has a great cast, is an easy story to be able to run with and bring drama to, and has entertainment value at a level that makes rewatching it a pleasure
Although its scientific understanding is... puzzling Deep Impact is, at times a highly entertaining watch thanks to a spot-on performance from Elijah Wood and emotionally stirring relationships.
Three things I would say about this movie. 1. Unrealistic 2. Terrible plot 3. Bad acting
Of all the disaster movies, this one tells the story in the most realistic way possible. Unlike Armageddon, which really took the hollywood approach to the extreme. Deep Impact gives you an emotional dose of how things could really go if our planet was to be put in this situation. With Morgan Freeman as the President and Robert Duvall as the captain this movie hits all the right points. Well done.
This Disaster Movie Was Really Captivating and I Enjoyed Morgan Freeman's Motivational Speeches. The End is very depressing but sets up a promising future but i Don't think I could ever re-watch this because it's somewhat melancholic.
I love this movie, I watch it all the time.
Good EOTW movie with solid acting. Very entertaining.
Good not great. Watch once every 5-10 years.
It's not the worst disaster movies I've seen. Some touching moments.
One of the Dullesst most souless, and lifeless disaster blockbusters ever put on screen how does anyone actually like it I saw many giving this a 6 percent rating especially even on IMDb what are they thinking are they out of their mind there must be some computer system bug in them and IMDb it should be rated at least a 4 or 3 on the site. what’s wrong with them i don't care if it's more scientifically accurate than Armageddon that doesn't make it a good movie it's boring, ugly and unrealistic, at least armageddon was fun to watch even if that's in a soo bad it's good way but even Armageddon looked more realistic than this because that had asteroids hitting the earth while the only disaster scene is just a huge tsunami wave hitting New York City it doesn't even look real and it's painfully unrealistic, Morgan freeman is wasted as the president and tea Leoni is just so unconvincing and emotionless in her role here if you want to see her giving a heartfelt performance watch bad boys that was way better than this piece of garbage and if you want to watch a good disaster film watch day after tommorow, 2012 and volcano those films are more entertaining and thought provoking than this cinemetic borefest Mimi ledger did a terrible job making this, what’s even more baffling and confusing is that Steven Spielberg actually excecutive produced this are you kidding me what was he thinking why would he be involved with a. Movie is awful I would find something to praise in a film he is involved with but not this this is the worst movie he has been involved with even his worst directed movie efforts or weaker films like 1941 and sugarland express among a few others are better than this cheap looking made for tv like snooze fest and even if you think it's better than Armageddon that's still not saying it's good technically both films are terrible but Armageddon at least was fun to watch even if it was a dumb film but deep impact is just boring and lifeless I didn't care who lived nor died I just rather have them all die ,, thumbs down 👎 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
