Déjà Vu Reviews
This makes no sense. When it makes no sense, it is not good.
This is the type of movie critics will hate but every casual viewer finds interesting and entertaining. The acting is solid. No need to explain why this methods of science are not possible… just take it for what it is and enjoy it. It’s a pretty fun movie.
I absolutely loved it. Fantastic tribute to New Orleans too
If you are serious about your life and seeking to learn something from movies - this is not a movie to watch. I can't believe good actor Denzel Washington signed for that. This is fiction, miraculous , magical movie with a lot of nonsense points.
The plot was really confusing and didn't make sense at times, but overall, it was really fun to watch and try to figure out. I definitely recommend it for sci-fi and crime fans!
*Déjà Vu* is a compelling blend of science fiction and action, showcasing Denzel Washington's exceptional talent. His portrayal of ATF agent Doug Carlin is both engaging and nuanced, bringing depth to the character. The film's production is noteworthy, with director Tony Scott utilizing advanced visual effects to create a seamless narrative that explores complex themes of time and memory. The cinematography by Paul Cameron effectively captures the vibrant essence of New Orleans, adding a rich backdrop to the unfolding mystery. Washington's subtle humor, particularly the quip about the "seven dwarves," adds a light touch to the intense storyline. Jim Caviezel delivers a strong performance as the antagonist, contributing to the film's tension and depth. Overall, *Déjà Vu* is a well-crafted film that combines innovative storytelling with strong performances, making it a memorable addition to the genre.
Good movie. It moves quickly, not predictable. Denzel as usual is great. I find with many dramas the script and acting are unnatural. This one is great. All good actors that help make this a suspenseful, thrilling, and unpredictable movie.
Uma narrativa ousada e diferenciada do gênero policial que torna a experiência do cinéfilo inesquecível.
Love Denzel, but not this movie. The writing, directing and acting just seemed off. And watching Caviezel play a bad guy made my brain glitch. I would have loved this movie years ago. It took me 66 years to get this jaded.
Great plot & action movie. I highly recommend it.
This movie is a total mind trip. It's very well done. It is explained pretty simply and well. The casting is great.
Really good movie. Denzel and Patton are great. It was also really nice seeing Caviezel and Kilmer. The rest of the cast is great as well. The concept of this movie is really interesting. I always enjoy when a movie surprises me with a new concept and original idea. Give it a watch.
Absolutely riveting.
Filme bom com conteúdo e sem política; com atores de grande relevância.
Denzil Washington has made a lot of incredible films, but one of his most underrated films is 2006's 'Deja Vu'. SYNOPSIS: 'After a ferry is bombed in New Orleans, an A.T.F. agent joins a unique investigation using experimental surveillance technology to find the bomber, but soon finds himself becoming obsessed with one of the victims.' Director Tony Scott delivers a film which is part action thriller and part sci-fi drama. With his usual big budget explosions and effects thrown in for good measure. The technical details of the story are absolutely absurd and I'm not sure if the cast really knows what's going on or how things are supposed to work. But who really cares when the film is this good? Washington is the glue that connects all of the dots. He's superb as always and his performance, and the film as a whole, deserves more recognition. The story is quite original in it's delivery and it's a real delight to see how so aspects of the story come together. It's definitely a film to view more than once to appreciate the intricacies and details at play. Highly recommended. 8/10
Denzel is great as always good movie
Great movie! I wish they still made movies like this. The cast was great, the script was tightly written and the dialogue was natural. Great mystery elements, good action sequences, the plot mostly made sense save for a few time travel related holes, but ultimately I was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing and had no idea what was coming next. Highly enjoyable for any movie night!
Sometimes a bit over the top but great performances and enticing story
Obviously the premise is extraordinarily silly, but it's just coherent and entertaining enough to work (I like how Scott visually downplays the sci-fi elements). Washington's performance is a little too good for the movie.
