Monkey Kingdom Reviews
Natural purism felt rather amiss around the monkeying kingdom of the environmental brand's continuous credibility being questioned through coincidental storytelling clichés based and observed through studied depiction. Nonetheless, Tina Fey narrates in her own fun way like most narrators replicating ourselves observing during zoo visits while packed with an unexpected social theming demonstrating the way of life is even mirrored in the animal kingdom and captivating selective characterization putting acceptance to the questioning due to witty amusement as well some heartening relief. Any movie from Disneynature is a gem!
A documentary with a dramatic script.
As far as nature movies go, this one was cute enough to entertain me. It is narrated by Tina Fey and she does an alright job with it. It is beautiful to watch in HD and is family friendly. It's not for everyone, but sometimes it is fun to just watch a bunch of crazy monkeys!
Not the best Disneynature has to offer but simply entertaining enough to watch.
These Disney Nature movies are pretty darn good. It was a great story, and very fascinating.
Beautiful cinematography tells a great story in the most amusing way. In money politics & sociography hierarchy is everything until shaken up by loss & regaining of habitat as things move from pristine wilds to the dangerous abundance of the city & back again.
Very well done in the way it captivates and educates. And Tina Fey as the narrator is the icing on the cake. Monkey Kingdom is an easy watch and makes for an enjoyable viewing experience
He'll learn. A Temple Troop of monkeys have a hierarchy social system that leads to weakness in the society. An organized group off militant monkeys move in on the tribe and threaten to take its land. The hierarchy will need to learn to work better together and each other's survival techniques if they hope to hold off the invading monkeys. "We are like ninjas." Mark Linfield (Earth and Chimpanzee) and Alastair Fothergill (Deep Blue, Chimpanzee, Bears, Earth, and African Cats) collaborate to deliver Monkey Kingdoms. The storyline for this picture is very unique and fun to watch unfold. The characters were very entertaining and Tina Fey delivered a great narration. "Happy Birthday Cake." We watched this as a family over the Christmas holidays and really enjoyed this film. There is a nice blend of drama and humor mixed throughout the story. This is worth seeing with your children but may not be worth adding to your DVD collection. "15lbs of hunky monkey." Grade: B
'Disneynature Monkey Kingdom' isn't for BBC nature doc fans that's for sure, but it tells a solid story albeit contrived. Tina Fey's voice doesn't really work here, but this is aimed at kids not adults. It does talk about death so perhaps young kids shouldn't view. Overall it's fine, but not a necessary watch. Final Score: 6.1/10
After production ended, a 1000-year-old banyan tree in the Polonnaruwa region died. A newspaper article alleged that production of the film caused the tree's death. - http://www.divaina.com/2015/12/20/feature14.html
