Dogma Reviews
one of the greatest movies of all time. period. .
While there are some problems with the film , it’s over all very enjoyable, great cast , the story is interesting. A cult classic
Can't wait for digital release and theatrical re-release. Also patiently waiting for sequel even though, sadly, no Rickman .
Thoughtful. The movie comes from a place of compassion and it doesn't necessarily register as such to everyone. It is funny, thought provoking, and spotlights Kevin Smith's talent.
The idea of this comedy was to make an acid criticism of Christianity, without wanting to offend. The idea could perhaps have been better if they had not lengthened jokes that, if anything, provoke very forced smiles. If this is saved from shipwreck, it is because of some characters.
Все посмотревшие — попадут в рай, или в ад.
Honestly, it was great. Some jokes were a little bit weird, but it was a memorable experience. The Catholics won't like it, but this movie honestly portrays the better way of believing than they do (I'm an atheist).
The idea behind this movie moved me a lot, but it was a movie with really satisfying expectations
My favourite Kevin Smith movie. Great cast and a great concept
Not funny at all, all the religion talk was confusing at times. Will never watch again.
"Dogma" is a thought-provoking and humorous film that tackles religious themes in a unique and creative way. The strong cast, including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Linda Fiorentino, delivers strong performances that elevate the material, while Jay and Silent Bob, the iconic duo from Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse, add a delightful and humorous touch to the film. Jay's crude humor and Silent Bob's stoic presence make for a comedic dynamic that is as entertaining as it is memorable. The film's blend of humor and serious themes is a hallmark of Kevin Smith's style, and "Dogma" is one of his best works to date. Although the humor can be hit-or-miss, the film's exploration of faith, sin, and redemption is both insightful and entertaining, making it a good movie with a bold and unconventional approach. For fans of the View Askewniverse, this film is a must-watch, and even for those unfamiliar with the series.
As someone who grew up Catholic, I found this hilarious, but I don't think I could recommend this movie to your average Joe. Its a bit too long and you either have to be familiar with the Catholic Church or be a Kevin Smith fan to really enjoy this movie.
To be honest, Alanís could be god, with out a doubt.
A movie to satire a religion is a good idea.
Has it's moments but for the bulk this movie just splutters along to it's rather half-baked conclusion.
I love this film. It is my favorite Kevin Smith movie. I really enjoyed his take on Christianity. The jokes are hilarious but some will find them offensive. It is a shame this movie is not widely available except on streaming sites where they are "technically" are uploaded illegally. It's the distributor's fault for not making it available. 90/100 A-
i'm not the biggest kevin smith fan but alan rickman and chris rock gave this movie real character. i wasn't born in a particularly religious household but still find this consistently funny. george carlin is also great
1st watch is good, but has not aged well, due in large part to slient bob being in it,
um dos piores filmes que já vi, não sei como alguém consegue rir destas piadinhas toscas.
