Facing Nolan Reviews

Ryan’s story should be told and celebrated for decades. He’s as old school as it gets, but I have a feeling young baseball fans, even ones who never got to see him pitch live on television, will get a kick out of this.

The fastest pitch in baseball was 105.1 mph, thrown in 2010. MLB's pitching GOAT, Nolan Ryan, threw a blazing 100.8 mph heater for 27 years and set an incredible amount of untouchable records. A heartwarming tale of a modern-day baseball Paul Bunyan.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 9, 2022

A bit of myth-making, but it's also highly entertaining.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Sep 24, 2022

While it may not be formally groundbreaking, this doc is still a treat for die-hard baseball fans, who should enjoy seeing footage from games ranging from the ’60s to the ’90s.

A celebration of baseball and the art of pitching.

| Original Score: B+ | Jul 22, 2022

Facing Nolan accurately captures a time in baseball history. When it is does go into juicier details, it is not the kind of stuff that drives today’s clickbait world. Even Ryan’s most YouTube friendly moment is just another part of his story.

...an entertaining, sporadically enthralling portrait of a justifiably iconic sports legend.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Jul 16, 2022

A baseball fan’s dream come true.

| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Jun 24, 2022

Baseball purists should really enjoy this dive into one of the greatest pitchers ever. The numbers alone will initiate enough wows to put the modern game in context but each pitch is a treasure if Ryan was not in your 온라인카지노추천 market.

'Facing Nolan' is that rare kind of triumph that makes you laugh and feel as much as it registers real human thought. Some life. Some movie.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Jun 6, 2022

“Facing Nolan” is a solid sports biography, old-fashioned in its lack of scandal or flash. It’s not revelatory, but that’s largely by design – Nolan Ryan simply was who he appeared to be...You couldn’t make him up, so it’s a good thing he’s real.

| Original Score: 4/5 | Jun 1, 2022

For lovers of sports documentaries, Nolan Ryan or exaggerated manifestations of that annoying-to-the-rest-of-us Texas persona, this is a tolerable way to pass a hundred minutes. But it doesn’t try to make anybody else care.

Baseball historians can appreciate this comprehensive glimpse into the life and career of Nolan Ryan, as told by the legendary pitcher himself, as well as those who tried to hit against him.

Even if you think you know Nolan Ryan, were a fan of his while he played, heard legend of his name, or loathed him when he would be the starting pitcher against your favorite team, this movie is a baseball-lover's dream.

| Original Score: A | May 23, 2022

Facing Nolan is a by-the-books documentary about Nolan Ryan, baseball's strikeout king and the most dominating pitcher to ever play the game.

| Original Score: 4/5 | May 23, 2022

An unapologetically sincere biography that plays like an old Saturday Evening Post cover come to life.

| Original Score: 3/4 | May 20, 2022

The film should be catnip for fans of the game, especially those (like me) who enjoy sitting back and listening to former big leaguers share old stories.

Baseball documentary on a nice guy great legendary pitcher.

| Original Score: B | Apr 24, 2022

A film dedicated to Ryan's achievements as a pitcher, with a look at love of family to fill in the margins.

| Original Score: 3/4 | Apr 19, 2022

For baseball fans and those who love pop culture, it’s engaging and irresistible stuff.
