It was a great Father's Day movie. It was treat watch it with my adult son, who had never seen it.

They don't make movies like this anymore. My grandparents took me to see this when it was new, and it was really nice to be able to take my son to see it.

Never disappointed re-watching this one. An avid baseball fan, I'd read the book some time before the '89 release and it's been a favorite since. If you're the kind of movie fan I am, you want to be wide-eyed with a smile on your face and immersed in the story. Kinsella has a great story here, translated with a deft touch and delivering a few powerful emotional truths by the ending. These days we crave all of this sort of sustenance we can find.
