Gladiator II Reviews
Catastrophic movie .
Stupid boats in the coliseum
Movie gets way to much hate the acting is incredicle, the costume desgin is out of this world and the cgi is great. Story Could have felt better but I think they did a great job
Gladiator's the rare exception of a sequel actually being good, even though it follows an all-time classic that never should've had a sequel. Denzel's the hero; probably one of his best acting jobs the last 20 years. Mescal's meh, but the emperors otherwise provided some fun moments. Overall the machiavellian twists and turns provide a fun angle for this one that helps push it away from the original and it's vengeance saga, so that ultimately this feels pretty original itself.
Just okay. Not coming close to the first one. Underwhelmed.
This is not a bad sequel just not as impactful as the first one. The performances were good and new things were added to this franchise in this sequel. Overall, this movie felt like a swan song for the predecessor and in that it was done properly.
Such an empty movie. Awful casting, the main characters have no charisma or screen presence. The character development is shallow and barely there. Halfway in I couldnt care less what happens to anyone in the movie. Denzel is so out of place here. The emperors look like they're on drugs and don't represent the real life characters.
not excited about a sequel of a movie so great but alas Paul Mescal and Pedro are here so had to watch it. Basically they repeated the same story, a little twist would've made that more interesting
A good script that was well executed and made a suitable sequel to a great film
What were they thinking with this one the story felt so disconnected and out of place. The only entertaining part was Denzel yet again. 4/10
Aimed at a 13 year old audience. I'm surprised creators of this wast of time of a movie didn't throw in some ghosts, magic, witches, dinosaurs and a few transsexual characters too. I'm sure actors made money but it didn't do their reputations any good.
The original Gladiator is a masterpiece, and while not as good Gladiator 2 is still a worthy sequel. Great visuals and choreography and really good performances all around.
I finally got around to watching Gladiator 2! I loved the battle sequences and all the performances, especially from Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal. The story follow Lucius Verus Aurelius, the exiled Prince of Rome, who becomes a prisoner of war and forced into fighting as a gladiator for a man who plots to overthrow the twin Emperors Geta and Caracalla. The action sequences were brutal and intense, the cinematography phenomenal, brilliantly transporting you back in time to Ancient Rome. Gladiator 2 honors the legacy of the original film and skillfully weaves in themes like the consequences of power and greed, loyalty, and sacrifice. Gladiator II is a fantastic historical epic that shows that Ridley Scott is still a phenomenal filmmaker. The sets, costumes, and production design were crafted with amazing attention to detail. If you’re a fan of the original Gladiator starring Russell Crowe, definitely give Gladiator II a watch!
Not as good the first, but worth the watch.
Don‘t know what this movie wants to be. A remake? An hommage? What‘s pretty annoying are the fast cut scenes. There‘s no athmosphere at all. Action is well made and kudos for Pedro!
It couldn't live up to the expectations of the first but overall it is a good movie.
One of the best sequels ever made. Absolutely epic! Wonderfully written, brilliantly arranged, looks and sounds jump off the screen. It even lifted up the first movie. It wasn’t derivative at all - it honored the first movie while following through on things that you would expect with the added creativity this movie brings. Every second was masterful. This will age like a fine wine.
Why is it Romans all look and speak British. Imagine doing this with any other culture...
Huge fans of the first Gladiator film. Excited to watch Gladiator II in part due to the good reviews, but compelled to comment/review as we were so hugely disappointed. Struggle to find any positives in a film that falls so far short across all dimensions. This is an unadulterated cashcow violation of the original film/franchise and a great opportunity lost. Given the poor quality feel a new distrust for reviews/ratings and wonder how many of the reviews are bots/paid and how many are from genuine audience members and critics.
