Hatchet II Reviews
Obvious that Evil Dead 2 was an inspiration, and while it comes up short of that horror/comedy classic Hatchet 2 does pretty well. Bad acting and cheesy lines abound, but there are a few decent moments, and the presence of Harris and Todd provides horror fans plenty to chew on, and it gives us an origin story and some inventive kills under 90 minutes.
Embora o filme seja péssimo, é bom ver Tom Holland e Tony Todd atuando juntos.
hmm... i did not finish watching it, haha.
Creo que muchos efectos dejaron mucho que desear, historia regular, nada del otro mundo
My rating for the film is a 4.4/10
One of the best modern slashers ever!
With great performances by Danielle Harris cast now as Mary Beth and Tony Todd (CandyMan) Hatchet 2 is definitely a bloody good time!
If you enjoyed the original Hatchet you will probably be disappointed by Hatchet ll which is little more than a lazy sequel lacking in any originality which is painfully obvious do to an uninspired script and wooden performances by all the cast. This film was made for one reason and one reason only and that's to made a quick buck off the original film. Don't waste your time on a film that is itself a complete waste in all respects. A real disappointment. Just plain S.T.U.P.I.D !
Oh my! This film DID hit the so bad it's good territory! A funny and stupid sequel with terrible gore practical effects.
Deeply gross and so much fun, part two is helped a lot by Harris who is one of the best scream queens in the biz.
Review: ‘Hatchet II' is a slasher film written and directed by Adam Green. It is the sequel to Green's film, ‘Hatchet'. This movie is just as ridiculous as the first, but dare I say more entertaining with the story it's telling. Picking up right where the first film ended, ‘Hatchet II' follows Marybeth (Danielle Harris) as she escapes the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling killer Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). After learning the truth about her family's connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher. The acting was on par with the first film; however, Marybeth has been recast and while I like Danielle Harris, I have to agree with others on saying it took basically the whole movie to figure out the character. When a character get's recast, the actor is likely not going to play them the same way and Harris' performance was different than Feldman's. Some of the murders definitely stand out, but it's not an amazing sequel like many people are saying. I consider myself a big horror fan and it was only okay for me. If you are to watch this movie it will just be for the wackiness and not the horror element. Overall, could have been worse, though it's not memorable like original. 2.5/5
I liked this movie a lot more than the original! It toned down the comedy to make an enjoyable film and less painfully cheesy film. Yet the story could have been better. Grade: B
Pretty big drop off from the original (which was not even a very good film). We get the usual sequel tropes of adding more backstory to villain and somehow the final girl is has a past connection to them. There just is nothing much of interest that happens here besides mindless gore and terrible dialogue.
I did not like this sequel as much as some people did, this type of movies are kind of stupid made, the thorror is horrible the story was not good and the acting was not good as well, the only thing good about this film was the way it continue it right away after the first one ended, that was the most interesting thing about the movie, otherwise the movie sucked. So for this not being a successful sequel to me, I give " Hatchet 2 " a D-.
its good, well its a hatchet film so i really cant complain, but i thought that this one really turned and went a different direction so i have to say that although i did like how instant it was, not he best one but still good.
