Hellraiser Reviews
This film is so bad that one ask question how everything is so simple, easily reaching to the rich guy's state, going away from a single woman who actually knew what the puzzle was about and than she goes inside the castle and everything was just laying there, no one else able to find it but her. wow
In a movie that, admittedly, is miles better then most of this franchise, it suffers from its extended run time not feeling needed. A very exposition heavy first full hour leads into a rather exhilarating final hour with stupendous settings rivaling that of the second film. That being said, making it to this final hours is a long, boring snoozefest.
Astounding practical effects employed with the Cenobites, and Jamie Clayton’s performance as Pinhead lives up to the original. None of the characters were annoying, and at worst the main character’s story is serviceable. To me it served as an acceptable backdrop for scenes with the cenobites or the human villain’s story, which I found more interesting. I go back and watch all the scenes with the cenobites sometimes because I think they are so cool and well done.
Less dark, for the more easy watching market. I didn't mind it, but nowhere near the much darker original. The cenobites looked OK, and still bit S&M freaky. Suggest people who did dnjoy this watch much darker original.
Whoever designed these rubber aliens to represent hellraisers should not make any more remakes. Is nothing sacred to you anymore? Does everything have to ruined? There are so many books that can be an inspiration, waiting to be adapted to the screen, but noooo...you have to ruin the existing ones. This is not for any generation, this does not belong in horror...it does not belong anywhere. Also make the Devil wear a skirt and powder his nose and immediately stop filming ever again. I was right for not watching it earlier 👎👎👎
Hellraiser is a reinvigorated reboot that gets the blood pumping, starting with Jamie Clayton’s worthy Pinhead performance that sets a fresh tone with immense reverence paid to Clive Barker's works.
That movie is good asf, but just for someone that didn't saw the original movies. The gore is good, and the history also
Don't listen to the reviews, every recent horror film I've seen is jump scare crap, this is so much more! Actually has a story and is creepy, can't wait for the sequel!
Hellraiser 2022 had the potential to be a really good movie, but failed. I do prefer it from the original but this film is still INSANELY slow going and we barely see the cenobites. I LOVE design of them. They're horrifying but also incredibly made and detailed.
A very good, easy to watch horror with outstanding makeup and creature design. As always the Cenobites really stand out but for the first time since the original two movies the cast really holds their own around them. Whilst different it still holds the same message amd core concepts of the originals and is a worthy reboot! It truly stands as a movie that lets the visuals speak more than the dialogue
I actually like this movie way more than the original.
Considerando a maquiagem dou 2 estrelas, agora roteiro e atuações, foram péssimas. Este é aquele tipo de filme que você torce para os monstros. Comparando com o original ainda prefiro ele e seus monstros mais assustadores.
I have just watched this movie and it was pretty good. I am not the biggest fan of hellraiser's movie but I watched the first one and I liked it. This new movie expand the world in a creative and dark way. The characters are OK but they are a bit forgettable but they work well. The story is very interesting having a good rhythm and a incredible photograph. The special effects are very cool, especially in the violent scenes which are very explicit and the design of the cenobites are very imaginative and disturbing. The ending was so shocking and I am very excited if the directors make a sequel. Maybe the movie is a bit different from the first one but I would recommend that you give it an opportunity.
A fun and modern reinvention of the series. The solid acting and deeper look into Hellraiser lore is a great mix, especially for fans of the series (like myself).
I like the Hellraiser movies, even the cheep cheesy b-rated movies that were made just to hold on to the movie rights, but I really struggle to watch this frustrating mess. There's a really good movie buried in this thing, but the protagonist, Riley, is utterly detestable and disgusting. She craps on and abuses every single person in her life, yet the writing has every one of those people around her continue to coddle her and put up with her ridiculousness. She eventually rewards all of those people for putting up with her crap by getting them all killed. Awesome. Except for one acquaintance, but he ends up mutilated for his troubles, so no worries. It's just unbearable writing.
Now I really liked the original movies and even the low budget sequels, but this was truly awful. It was slow, boring and disjointed at points. I was literally falling asleep at one point. You don't feel anything for the characters, like couldn't care less what happened to them. It seemed to miss the point of the original story. Not great.
Better than the original in my opinion. But not the best still. Worth watching at least once.
The demon things were pretty cool.
Lame movie every time they change caracters the movie goes to hell , that girl never stops crying , yelling, screaming and her hair is always on her face I mean at least fix your hair a little …..
I believe the original Hellraiser is one of the best horror films of all-time. Needless to say, the bar for this remake is high. The pieces don’t quite fit together as seamlessly as the original, this honestly seems like just another Hellraiser movie, rather than a reboot. Pinhead and the Cenobites were far less intimidating then the original, and Pinhead had far less presence. All of the aforementioned is probably why much of this was hidden in the shadows and the dark. The Hellraiser name keeps it above water long enough for the ending, which is pedestrian at best.
