Hubie Halloween Reviews
I find this a light hearted family comedy, love seeing Adam sandler goofing around like this
I love this movie so much I saw it when it first came out and it made me laugh and i have been watching it every month since.
The closest thing to an Adam Sandler sh*tpost movie that has plenty of callbacks to his earlier works and a pretty 50/50 script when it comes to the comedy and dialogue. I thought I’d hate Hubie’s accent, but ngl it’s kind of the funniest part of the whole movie next to the running gag of people always throw sh*t at Hubie while he’s riding his bike. Half of the jokes are actually decently funny, but ngl the other half is pretty lackluster and cookie-cutter in a boring kind of way. The ending twist was kind of cute though. I doubt I’ll rewatch it anytime sooner, but overall I had a decent time with it, which is saying a lot for a Happy Madison movie.
Pretty bad due to its acting, but not completely terrible due to having some pretty funny moments.
I absolutely love this movie. It’s really funny and I have watched it so many times since it came out in 2020, Adam Sandler played his role well in this movie and it had a pretty good cast.
Hubie Halloween - 5/10. Adam Sandler had a decent dramatic turn with his last film, Uncut Gems. But since he didn't get nominated for an Academy Award, it seems like he's coming through with his promise of making bad movies as payback for not getting the recognition for that film's role. The thing about Adam Sandler's movies is that he aims at a specific crowd of comedy (the silly, outrageous, and generic). His classic comedy films are great because they played up his antics but didn't over do the silliness. This movie continues his run of mediocre comedy films that he has made for Netflix (though, like his previous Netflix film Murder Mystery, this one is decent to a certain extent). The movie follows Hubie Dubois, an eccentric, kind, and simple minded individual. An enthusiast of Halloween and detective work, he gets made fun of and poked at by the towns people of Salem. His life, though, changes when a bunch of strange things start happening around the town. Sandler as the lead is up to his usual self, and though he is okay in the role, he does a decent job of trying to be silly in a silly role. Its really the supporting cast that helps make the film funny. Some of the funniest lines and scenes come from these smaller characters. In terms of the other leads, Kevin James is over the top but decent as the town cop, and its nice to see Julie Bowen reunite with Sandler after Happy Gilmore. As for the film itself, it has a premise that is familiar and comedy that at times make it feel more juvenile than it should be. If the film aimed for more horror along with its comedy, it might have been a lot better.
Adam Sandler and his friends all come back together for a Halloween adventure as the local sweetheart, Hubie, tries to uncover a mysterious threat in his home while trying to survive bullies and insane people. The movie is a comedy and the plot barely mattered, though it did have heart to it. I personally did not think it was as funny as past Adam Sandler work, but it wasn’t exactly the worst film in the world, and I’d say it was above mediocre. It felt very odd and there were jokes that did land at times, mostly by Hubie himself, but it just wasn’t a movie I would think of very often.
Absolutely love this movie, very heartwarming.
Adam Sandler just has a bad rap with the movie critics it seems they always expect something wildly different I love this movie and i watch it annually another adam Sandler classic!
Ahh the 90s, when it was OK to laugh at the handicapped.

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It’s a goofy Adam Sandler movie with spooky Halloween vibes. Lighthearted and funny, what more could you ask for? Would watch again!
My new favorite Halloween movie! It's a classic Adam Sandler silly lighthearted comedy oozing with Halloween spirt.
Excellent must watch for those who are looking for a lighthearted film over Halloween! I watch it religiously every year in my house!
*Hubie Halloween* is a fun and goofy Halloween comedy that hits the right notes if you're a fan of Adam Sandler's films, which I am. The cast is stacked, with plenty of familiar faces like Kevin James, Julie Bowen, and Steve Buscemi, adding to the charm. The movie's premise is simple but entertaining, and while it’s all ridiculous, it’s the kind of stupid that makes you laugh out loud. Sandler's speech impediment initially felt off-putting, but it grows on you and suits his quirky character well. The mystery aspect was surprisingly well done for a comedy, keeping me invested. Overall, it's a solid flick for the Halloween season, full of silly moments and slapstick humor. It's not Sandler’s best, but it delivers exactly what you’d expect from one of his holiday-themed comedies – mindless fun. Perfect for a lighthearted watch with some Halloween spirit.
It's 100% a Sandler classic already... This is a must-watch every Halloween in my house 🎃🍭🕷️💀
