Alittle all over the place but i enjoyed it ☺️

Wow, I have no idea why this was in my PLEX top unplayed movies.... What a horribly boring movie with absolutely no redeeming qualities. I figured, hey, if Ray Donovan (Liev Schriber) was in it, it has to be good!! WRONG. What a waste of time, and I'm an old man, my remaining time is valuable to me. Thank you for speeding me to my death with absolutely nothing of value.

So annoying to see this limping version of the 2014 Italian film "Il Capitale Umano", which won a massive amount of awards. Scene after scene is copied even down to similar POV camera angles. But sadly no award party will ever be held for this one. The Italian version centred sharply on the ruthless violence of the business upperclass and its lack of sympathy to those who fail to-enter it. However this knife-edge is completely gone and in its place is a rather quaint table of very ordinary suburbanites.

Dividing the movie into 3 viewpoints was possibly necessary as a way to tell the story, but it ended up being annoying and stretched the story a bit beyond its welcome. Ultimately we didn't really care too much about the revelations of infedility and sexual preferences, just wanted to know whodunit. Actors were well-known, but only did their basic, except the younger ones, who seemed to really try harder, especially Maya Hawkes, who's got an attractive screen presence.

Dull, messy, all around the place family drama in the kitchen sink.

First 20 minutes were good and then it became a meandering, confusing, cacophony of drivel. Marisa Tomei should do better and the kids in this movie were horrible. I give it a two but could have been a four based on first 20 minutes.

Acting isn't bad. The problem here is literally every character is an asshole that makes poor life decisions. You keep waiting for someone to turn their life around, but nope, no such luck. I found myself with no one to root for.

HUMAN CAPITAL: great cast, acting and direction, but a storyline that no screenplay could possibly make worthwhile. The story is about very seriously socially FUBARed people(?) that aren't worth knowing and it ends with no redemption whatsoever (or even an actual climax). I'd rate the storyline at less than 1 star, but the acting and direction at more than 3 stars counterbalances it to 2. This kind of flick is for sick, Jerry Springer addicts that thrive on putrid victimhood and drama queen angst.

An interesting movie that could have been a lot better if they gave enough time to its ending instead of rushing it. (At least another 5-10 minutes)

I really liked this movie because the characters and their behavior and actions were so wonderfully explained. The husband, a man with a weak character and a dark past as a gambler, makes bad decisions but that's okay and we still like him for some reason. The pretty and gentle wife just keeps loving her wayward husband and this makes her very appealing. His daughter with a wild streak gets herself as near to disaster as one can by getting herself involved with a 'bad boy' type but she's still very likeable and interesting. The bad boy, himself, ends up in jail with his girlfriend visiting him and that feels so right somehow. And finally the weak-willed husband ends up cuddling a new baby that's arrived in his life via his sweet wife and that's just so pleasant to watch. This may sound trite on paper but it's not at all trite to watch. It's the opposite of trite. It's deep and meaningful as are the fascinating characters.

Idc how much money you have no one would be that casual with that big of a loss with that little of an explanation over that short of a period . Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think rich people just say you’re beat like that 2.4. The character development was awful - everyone coulda died at any point and I would have no blinked an eye

A dull attempt at complex interweaving storylines, which fails to create the characters necessary to sustain such a narrative.

I am writing this review as I wait for this movie to end (please). Why does anyone think a movie will be so MUCH more awesome if the timeline is scrambled. Just play it out in chronological order!

Started fine, got bored towards the end.
