Joe Bell Reviews
So hard not to hate this world we live in sometimes..
I wasn't sure how it would all come together but it ended up being a wild ride with a lot of feelings the way life is.
I think the movie was a really great watch. I personally liked how it jumped back and forth through out the movie. It really was not hard to follow the timeline at all. I do not understand why some people struggled with that. All the actors did amazing and it told the true story well.
Joe Bell is ultimately a well intentioned, inoffensive film that while admirable is unfortunately often dull.
What a very powerful movie. My heart breaks that kids are such bullies to those who are not like them. Life lesson here. A must watch.
Great casting. Reid was amazing In The movie. Good pacing in the movie and I was quite emotional throughout. I highly recommend it
I'm saddened by the negative ratings but not surprised. What was great about this film was the important story it told, and frankly it was far less formulaic than 1 million other stupid romcoms & crap I've seen. I was rocked to my core. I wish all of those supposed grown ass adults & their families with hate in their heart could be forced to sit in a room and watch this film. Especially the politicians weaponizing that hate for a few votes from equally ignorant people.
truthfully this movie is awful....i tried and wanted to like it but it was really bad
As true as it can get, this movie touched my heart last night and is still holding it. It initated thoughts about struggles, pain and depression I felt - and also caused to others - in my life. It even made me do something about it. Wow!
Great acting ! Good message!!
This is a really important film. It is not intended to entertain. It is poignant and thoughtful. The actors do a good job. It is based on a true story.
emotional.... just that... sad , true story... powerful!
Incredibly touching movie, especially if you are a parent. Not sure why folks judged this so harshly other than the important message of the film. Give it a chance. It's entertaining as well. Mark Whalberg really did a great job in his role, as well as Jaiden's actor, apologize I didn't catch his name. Beautiful film, important message
Watched on the plane back from the States. Powerful story with an interesting twist in how it is filmed which i didn't see until the moment. Don't watch if feeling low..
Joe Bell doesn't hit it out of the park, but it is sincere and wears its heart on its sleeve. While its back and forth narrative structure doesn't always work, it does make for some very impactful moments despite consistently being at risk of being platitudinal. Marky Mark is really quite good in this and there is certainly plenty of room for stories from the perspective of parents of queer individuals.
This movie need to be watch in schools!! This happened because no one does Anything about it!
Beautiful film, moved me to tears. Must watch for all parents. Critic's opinion really doesn't mean much - 40% rating? Are they serious?
I knew only the subject matter of this movie; I hadn't researched the real-life stories of Joe or Jadin Bell. So for me, it wasn't predictable or formulaic. There were shocking moments for me, very emotional moments. I found the movie moving and wonderfully done.
