It was a little hard to follow at times with the jumping around back and forth on the timeline. Naturally hated the ending, but it was based on a true story, so had to be told.

The movie delivered an important message on the impact of homophobia and intolerance on individuals, families and society. The acting was superb, although the plot was somewhat plodding. The flashbacks and imagined conversations helped move the storyline forward.

I genuinely enjoyed this story of a father and his son. They were a few moments during the movie where I felt like I was punched in the gut and tears fell. This is an important message that needs to be shared with many.

Very depressing. Wahlberg did a good acting job and Connie was not given enough screen time.
