Rambo Reviews

lets rip with endless action that looks like a slow-mo fire-fight in a fireworks factory made of raw excrement.'

| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 10, 2022

Most definitely for those who want to see heads roll and the body count reach unspeakable proportions in a most exhilarating fashion.

| Original Score: 8/10 | Nov 28, 2020

A macabre ceremony... in which Stallone recreates himself. [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Nov 2, 2020

Fast paced, spectacular riveting explosive eye-popping effects, emotional, powerful, prescient and timely....Rambo, it's ****ing awesome!!!!!!!!

| Nov 13, 2019

An unintentionally hilarious comedy disguised as a bloodbath action film.

Probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

| Original Score: 1.5/4 | Sep 22, 2019

For fans of John Rambo, there is something appealing about the movie and you may want to brush up on the character before he returns to the big screen but it isn't the best film of the franchise.

| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Sep 2, 2019

If you're new to the Rambo phenomenon, it's doubtful there's much here that's going to win you over, but for longtime fans this is a valentine through and through.

| Original Score: B+ | Feb 4, 2019

Boils down to cinema as computer game, with Burmese military bad guys held up for target practice. Predictably disappointing.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Nov 4, 2018

Unfortunately... while Rocky Balboa deepened and expanded an iconic character, Rambo creates an even bloodier caricature of the one-man army many viewers remember.

| Oct 12, 2018

Looking back on it ten years later, it deserves more credit than it received at the time of its release, if for nothing else than somewhat redeeming a character that had become a caricature of himself by the previous conclusion of his own franchise.

Leaden action picture.

Stallone uses his iconic character here to explore the necessary evils of violence through a brutal pop lens.

Sly may be a crass tyrannosaurus, but he's not a fake

Light on plot, heavy on violence - Rambo isn't for everyone, however I think it perfectly appeals to the video game crowd.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Aug 3, 2009

The orgy of violence, as ghastly as in any video game, should go a long way toward erasing whatever goodwill Stallone earned with his sentimental Rocky Balboa.

| Dec 16, 2008

Straightforward wish fulfillment -- imagine what crimes against humanity we could punish if we had real, indestructible Rambos.
