Lamb Reviews
I really do not understand how someone can like this movie. It is insanely empty of any sense, and personally I find it extremely slow, it is a 1 hour and 46 minute movie that could have been a 10 minute film, honestly.
To be honest: the story is outlandish, albeit original. But the movie is extremely well made.
So original... The kind of movie that stays with you. The tale (almost folkish-like?) of a being belonging to two races at the same time and that both "families" are claiming as theirs. I think it's fair to say nobody will be satisfied by the ending. But that's the way the cookie crumbles. Big up for Noomi, insanely believable in her role of dedicated mother.
Not everyone gets slow rolling movies with no explosions and the plot isn’t spoon fed to the audience. But if you appreciate a good drama and you are open to strange, dark plots then give this a go.
The film being a slow burn Icelandic folk horror with plenty of thematic sustenance, the makers of Lamb have no reason to be baa-shful.
booooooooooooooooring
I appreciate the risks that it took but it would have benefited from more of an ending. SPOILER: I would have liked to either see her trekking into the wilderness with the gun to try to find Ada because she truly was dedicated a mother OR pregnant from the night with her husband and happy totally putting that behind her since it was a fill in for a human baby to her.
Se podría decir que algo peculiar.. Pero en momentos si da miedo. Es buena
I did not even finish watching the movie because I fell asleep before halfway. It was so boring, so pointless and a total waste of time
Nothing happens, the movie has no point, it doesn't build any tension. It's just boring and pretentious.
It is more of a bizarre version of a dramatic story than anything else. There are only two "oh crap!" moments in the entire movie for me.
Lamb has an concept but it's execution is a long journey to reach a lackluster destination
This movie was absolute booty. Thanks for the recommendation Flem & Britt..
This one is half human half sheep which is gets good at the end when the finally found his real father not the step father.
I absolutely love Noomi Rapace. I've enjoyed everything that I've seen her in. She's a wonderful actress. It's difficult to describe how this movie made me feel. The atmosphere of the movie started felt strange from the get go. The isolation of what looked like a lonely barren wasteland gave me a feeling of dread throughout the entire movie. When the "lamb" was born, the feeling of dread became worse when they took it away from the mother sheep and took it into their house. I could feel that something wasn't right. This movie had my mind racing in all sorts of directions, but the underlying current of pending doom never let up. When the final credits began to roll, I was like, "what the hell did I just watch?" That was over an hour ago, and I still feel like I'm in that green and gray wasteland of a place staring at those ominous mountains. I'm not sure what the producers of the movie wanted viewers to feel, but I'm feeling 5 stars worth of foreboding anxiousness.
Beautifully stark remote scenery, good acting, nice soundtrack, decent effects, but a somewhat silly story.
i don't mind slow burn movies, foreign films, art films. but it ended too abruptly and not enough explanation. if you haven't started rolling the film, don't get into it. sorry guys it was very well made, but needed more than the ending we got. great performances though
Valdimar Jóhannsson, Icelandic drama with minor elements of horror & I can honestly say I don't think I've seen any other film that is a sweet tale about parenthood & also manage to have a creepy atmosphere which we're treated to early on as we see the point of view of an unknown entity walking through the mist covering the Icelandic countryside listening to its heavy breathing. Story of losing a child & the bizarre situation of filling the void of their lost.
A child's fable set in desolate Iceland. I'll watch anything with Noomi Rapace. It is a weird film. Something different.
Warning: don't watch if you're pregnant. Original. Stomach turning. A cross between The Wicker Man and Rosemary's Baby.
