Land of Bad Reviews
This is one of the best military/action movies that’s been released the past few years. Liam and Russel both hit the mark and the rest of the cast was excellent. The action and set pieces were perfect, no over the top 30 mile long runways here. Going on my list of favorite modern age military/action flicks for sure.
The movie must have been made on a budget, 5 sets, parking garage, "SATCOMM", jungle, grocery store, and complex. Dialogue poor, continuity poor, logic poor, accuracy of military protocol - none, accuracy of drone technology - none, development of characters poor to none, scene in the grocery store is inane. Generally the movie is poorly written and acted, action scenes were weak at best and it was made for frankly made for analphabetic young males. It ranked very high in my list of bad movies, especially the closing scene.
Non stop action and great special effects
The sets, GFX/UI design and Russ make it a very cool film. Cinematography, colour and editing are top notch.
A quality action film that leaves audience entranced with intensity. Russell Crowe is phenomenal in his gruff, yet emotional role.
absolute wasting time. Boring plot, characters
Definitely missed the point of this films message. There were a couple woven in but they weren't overt enough to give you that ah ha moment if why this film is different than others of the same genre, but was entertaining at least. Not a waste of time to watch.
I watched this movie last night and found it very entertaining for that specific genus. At times the special effects were very realistic and then there were some scenes that need to be edited for accuracy. Either way it was a good movie to watch.
Every cliche in the book--a very, very bad book
Worth adding to the watch list if you liked bat21 or similar.
I am surely no friend of war movies, and absolutely don't care about Russell Crowe, but I dropped into this flick mainly because of Liam, and though he looks a bit off, and definitely doesn't do any great acting job, the whole movie isn't all that bad, obviously it isn't good either. The only really nice thing about this flick are the jungle settings and the occasional views of beautiful nature. 4/10 points!
Ignore the joke iberal critics reviewing this movie as negative. They should not be reviewing a genre they hate. This is a great movie! Well done!
Phim về chiến tranh hay.
What a great ending, great adventure movie, great revenge movie
This movie was great in so many ways - acting, suspense, cinematography, story development. Russell Crowe was great. The other soldiers stayed in character and were excellent too. Tomatometer got it wrong this time. 90%, at least!
Good action, but lacked a serious/meaningful plot. Ending was cut short.
Enjoyable watch and excellent VFX. Characters lacked emotional depth and the story felt isolated from any greater geopolitical context which may have given it more hold.
It's nice when a movie surprises you. Very solid.
The Land of Bad follows a.special ops rescue mission to its conclusion. The tone and feel of the movie is reminiscent of Sicario and Top Gun: Maverick. The story is good with some unexpected twists, thrills, and lessons. All of the actors do a great job but Russell Crowe steals the screen through the character 'Reaper,' a civilian contractor working as a drone operator. Reaper cares deeply about his job and takes the mission seriously. The team in the field is his number one priority and that's what makes Reaper so darn likable. All in all the action looked and felt great but that's not what makes Land of Bad a good movie. In fact, I wouldn't even call Land of Bad an action flick. At its heart, Land of Bad is drama about the difficulties surrounding modern combat and its effect on our psyche.
Way better than I expected. I love these types of films but Liam hasn't always been a strong lead like Chris has proven to be. However, i think he really stepped up this time. Russell is a solid supporting lead and often steals the spotlight despite not actually being part of the action. Definitely worth seeing.
