Terrible movie in every way. Worst director, discontinuities abound and long lingering shots are long and lingering at 10x speed! We all know Nicolas Cage is a terrible actor but at least he's unintentionally hilarious in this bomb. Director keeps telling him to stand still wide-eyed for those endless lingering shots -- or maybe Cage insisted on it, who knows. Anyway, it's pretty funny at times. But the incoherent action is baffling at best and is frankly unnecessarily confusing. The supernatural elements seem to just be there to keep the script from having to be coherent. The dialog is delivered at half speed throughout. (Was slow even at 1.5 speed.) Typically low budget gore. The bad guys conveniently tie up Cage poorly so he easily escapes -- TWICE!! They also conveniently leave his weapons hanging around so he can retrieve them. I'd call it brainless fun except it will make your head explode, which is not fun. You can't even say that the whole thing is supposed to be an LSD-induced hallucination because the director makes it clear that much of it is supposed to be real. Idiotic from start to finish.

Nicolas Cage holds back nothing as Red, the “alcoholic war veteran lumberjack” in this gorecore revenge-o-matic. A cult leader (Linus Roache) takes a fancy to Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) and summons rip-off cenobites (Ivailo Dimitrov, Kalin Kerin, Tamás Hagyuó, Paul Painter) to kidnap her. What happens to Mandy is pretty jarring ($1) and I don’t want to spoil it. But let’s just say Red’s awesomely confected axe has an insatiable thirst for biker and cultist blood. The pink and purple palette draped with an excellent score shape this batshit story. It feels like a throwback and knows exactly what it is. I’m actually shocked with RT (90/67) and figured it would be an Audience favorite. A gripe would be Cosmatos sorta “Boba Fett’d” the cannibalistic demon bikers. It also showcases a key bump that would draw the envy of Tony Montana. If you’re craving a gory good time with Nic Cage, this is your movie.

I watched this movie on a lark one night… and it has stuck with me ever since. The artistry is refreshing and it’s a nice break from the overly played gen z horror that plagues all the streaming channels at the moment. It’s definitely artsy as hell… which is why I love it. Cage is as much cage as can be possible in this movie, and he absolutely delivers. Around every turn of every scene I was laughing, but also just like … WTF did I just watch?! I ended up buying this movie and I watch it often. Can’t wait to see more from this director.

Mandy is the type of film that makes you pause and think about what you just watched. It's strange, it's intense, it's scary, but most of all, it's amazing.

Nick Cage at his finest. The score, the colors, the cinematography. Everything is just perfect. The Nick Cage bathroom scene gets me shook every time. Literally one of the greatest acting performances I have ever seen.

Another movie that seems like it was written for Nicolas Cage. The visual effects were trippy and threw in the gore to boot.

Truly one of the most amazing movies in recent years - acting; props; cinematics; film writing; soundtrack pure perfection! I have a few strong all time favourite films but this *and quite rightly* gets a solid first place. Would be great to see more from that film producer, but not a sequel.

This is an acid trip of a movie. I'm not really even sure what I'm supposed to get out of it, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It has a different vibe than any movie I've seen before. Would watch again.

Horrible, gruesome, boring, takes itself way too seriously, confusing, hard to understand, pointless, waste of time.

The shots are amazing, the score is great, at its core its a simple revenge thriller but it's done in the best way possible.

This is a truly ridiculous move. I don't mind being stoned or drunk watching a movie, but it shouldn't be mandatory. Maybe so bad its good?

It might be the best film ever made... if you love horror and are a little artsy-fartsy.
