The animation is great in this movie. Unfortunately, that's about all I can say that is great. I think there's a bare bones of a good story here, but it's so simplistic and chaotic that it gets lost. One moment the heroes are working to clear their names, and the next they're having a random dance party. I don't understand what has happened to the writing industry. This movie honestly felt like AI wrote it.

It was devastating that this movie never saw light of Blue Sky & the big screen, but managing to see it on Blu-Ray (without a subscription service) - it really is a top tier movie attached to Blue Sky Studios. Starting with the animation, it looks unfinished at first sight (remainders of Blue Sky Studios), but looking at it again, I would enjoy this style, animation like no other animation I have seen. Then, there are the characters such as Nimona herself, she is so awesome with her shape-shifting powers, like Megamind & his weapons. Ballister had heart. The Director could never have been any more evil - she wore white so she felt like an angel, yet she was the one who killed the queen & conned people, even Nimona seemed to have died as the dark monster just to end her. And, I believe with that surprise ending, this will have to get a sequel.

Despite the complications of development, this film came out soaring. With a colorful and endearing animation style, Nimona strikes out as a story for all audiences. Its characters are complex and build off one another consistently, but what stands out most is the movie's handling of themes of discrimination, tokenism, and internalized hate. It condenses these social issues into potent representations and makes them more digestible for younger or more passive audiences. It emphasizes humanity and tugs at emotions through relatability, and it executes this extremely well. I would recommend it without exception.

With an incredible Chloe Grace Moretz as the lead role, Nimona is a fun action-packed adventure that will keep you and your kids entertained through its whole runtime.

This is a wonderful movie. The animation and voice acting is amazing. The characters that the anime is created are beautiful. And especially now in this very strange world of 2025, a refreshing movie like this is a joy to watch and gives us hope for the future.

Honestly, one of the best movies I've ever seen & was not expecting that going into it. A sad, serious, cute story about a shapeshifter that gets deeper & deeper as the movie goes on, the story is amazing, main characters are loveable & a neat twist with medieval mixed with modern technology civilization. A must watch for anyone!

Nimona was over the top, to the point of being ridiculous. The film had weak characters, and an even weaker script, with plenty of annoying lines. The Big Hero 6/Monster’s University writer (Robert L. Baird) should have produced something MUCH better than this. Perhaps the fact that it took six screenwriters to pull this together says something… a cake handled by too many bakers, too many chefs in the kitchen. this is such an admirable masterpiece. the film knows when to be silly, and when to be emotional. It's my 31st fav movie of all time. I love this girl!

This movie is really great! It made me really cheer for the two of them! This movie made me smile, and made me cry.

A fantastic entry in modern-day kids animation. With a mashup between medieval and the present, and a story that keeps moving you emotionally. Chloe Grace Moretz and Riz Ahmed shine in this wonderful blend of technology and classic kingdomship, as a duo that has more chemistry than a lot of on-screen characters in the last decade. In a fantastic display of amazing animation, outstanding writing, incredible performances from all sides of the cast, and an ending that jerked tears constantly, it astonished me greatly as a memorable movie in the eyes of animation.

Astonished! It actively mocks adults as small minded for being inquisitive whilst normalising a hyperactive and murderous mindset by a creature that can imitate anyone. How did this get a pass for children?

It's actually a very nice movie and I'm hoping for a nimona 2! I thought it's gonna be a light story, but it hits me hard especially if you can relate to the character of nimona. I looove this so much! Hoping for a Nimona 2! Please!

Thank god Netflix saved this movie, we would have never gotten to see this Masterpiece of a movie!

Great animation and a good story with many heartfelt moments to pull you in.

Netflix’s Nimona confronts the monster of intolerance in a funny and tender family film that’s perfect for Pride Month.

The visuals and the world that is built is certainly interesting and beautiful, taking you in quickly. Then the movie throws a lot of chaotic action scenes at you, that work with the premises in such a creative and charming way, that you have no choice but to be entertained. The first act introduces the characters, of which most are genuinely likable, and leads into a captivating plot. The second act is where most of the enjoyable action happened. Always underwritten with a charming humor. The third act falls a little flat for me. For one, Nimona's character, that was introduced as brutally violent with no regard for murder and mutilation, suddenly gets rebranded as a misunderstood being with harmony in mind. Then the premise of the world gets broken up in a somewhat interesting way, leading to a kind of weak ending with at least an enjoyable happy ending. Final note: A day after watching I thought it was strange, that in a movie that emphasizes on writing more modern, morally sound characters a major plot point is thatNimona (a millenia old, shapeshifting being) is in an obsessive relationship with a small girl and this never gets questioned.

Beautiful, visually attractive, in line with current trends, attractive and engaging with a plot without equal, suitable characters, where you touch from the emotional to the war, a film that is definitely worth seeing.
