Sam (Reza Emamiyeh) arrives in Tokyo to visit his expat girlfriend Becca (Cailee Oliver) -- only to be broken up with as soon as he finds his way to her apartment. Out on the streets of Tokyo alone, he decides to cut his trip short and return to America the next day. Stuck for the night while he waits for his new flight, he makes an unlikely friend in Ayaka (Tokiko Kitagawa), who reluctantly takes him out with her friends. They both struggle to communicate due to their language barrier but are forced to rely on each other when betrayal sends their worlds crashing down. Walking through the streets of Tokyo together, they must not only overcome obstacles to understand each other, but must also break down their own walls to understand themselves.
