Paranormal Activity 3 Reviews
Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's new collaboration doesn't irritate but doesn't excite either. The film tries to scare us but instead delivers insignificant bursts of repeated jolts. [Full review in Spanish]

The characters here are little more than victims predestined to their fate, since we’ve already witnessed what happened to Katie and Kristi. Ostensibly, we’re watching a supernatural snuff film.

It's a flimsy and transparent story that doesn't hold up to even the most shallow of examinations.
| Original Score: 2.0/4.0 | Sep 19, 2020
By showing us more of the ghost's activity the film loses some of its mysterious appeal
| Original Score: 2/4 | Jun 8, 2019
It's an ending that suggests another film is possible, although I think it's time for this franchise to pull the plug. It's clearly taken the found-footage gimmick as far as possible.

For the love of God, I hope you don't see the next Paranormal Activity...Jesus, my head.

A cataclysmic abomination of a film, forever tarnishing the reputation of one of the better horror movies of the past decade.

Fresh feeling and a gloriously gonzo finale.

A few surprisingly effective set pieces that earn some legitimate scares, regardless of how familiar it's all starting to feel.

The latest installment isn't quite as terrifying as the second, but it's still extremely creepy and engrossing and everything you'd want in a 21st-century nightmare maker.

I just spent the whole movie covering my eyes, opening them right before what I knew was going to happen happened ... and then shutting them again and curling up. These movies, man. They get me every time.

Sustaining horror is what the Paranormal Activity movies are all about and in that sense, part 3 doesn't disappoint.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Feb 11, 2013
Drips with tension, horror, and building suspense that explodes in to a mind blowing finale that you'll not soon forget.

Paranormal Activity 3 doesn't reinvent the series' wheel but it definitely refines an already effective format.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 2, 2012
There really just aren't any scares to be had here. Even people who normally find themselves scared at the smallest "boo" will find themselves drifting off less than halfway through the film.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | Sep 19, 2012
Paranormal Activity 3 delivers, and does it without gore or "look at me!" special effects.

In the moments that count, those silent wolf-hour compositions of gathering dread, the franchise has earned a place of pride in horror history.

Delivers the clean, simple jolts and scares the series is known for.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Apr 6, 2012
Delves far more into the mythology of the series, which may render the picture less scary to some, but there's still enough thrills and chills to keep most audiences thoroughly freaked.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Jan 29, 2012
It's another low-budget, high-concept excursions into shock horror filmmaking that once again uses the audience's imagination against them to produce a wild flurry of shrieks and scares.
