This movie was a absolute chore to try and sit through. The main character had a very woe is me attitude and that makes her so unlikeable. I turned this film off 54 minutes and 15 seconds in because once I saw what happened at that point this film lost me altogether. I tried but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, this movie was a big let down for me and I don't think it's worth wasting the hour and 40 minutes of your life to watch this pile of hot garbage.

Hmmm... Good photographie. The acting was not the greatest. With the potential to be great, so close, but the direction did not break through the overall teenager's aroma.

An overweight girl is repeatedly bullied in her small town. Socially excluded due to her appearance, she sees her mental health seriously affected. A stranger starts kidnapping the girl's tormentors, launching terror among local community. After seeing one of her bullies being kidnapped by this stranger, the girl feels simultaneously confused and terrified. Why is this man willing to stand up for her? And how does she perceive him: a savior or a criminal? "Piggy" is a body horror movie with a sharp social commentary. The spectator is confronted with the systematic bullying of the main character, a horror that matches the violent crimes commited by the man who apparently wants to protect her.

Bear in mind, this is just a gimmick horror film, I don’t know what critics were thinking. Not the most original or captivating plot, and most every subplot is just tossed aside by the end. The lead character is the most compelling thing about this, but by the end she’s just an irrational and annoying teen who doesn’t know what she wants. Worth a watch for the lead actor's performance.

Methodically mesmerizing. Relates well with real emotions. One of the best newer movies I’ve watched in a while. Original and captivating. A must watch for deeper thinkers who get it. Iykyk kudos to the lead role 👏👏👏

Certainly a very confronting movie. Laura Galan in the lead role really carries this movie. Very violent (physical violence plus bullying), so not a movie for the faint hearted.

Mesmo que a personagem principal seja interpretada por uma mulher adulta, só aumenta mais a qualidade de trabalho dela, que não deixa transparecer isso na tela. Aqui o terror é psicológico, mas também tem o gore clássico. São tantas nuances no roteiro para serem debatidas que daria uma monografia. Confesso que torci que houvesse um romance ali pelo meio da história, mas entendo o fim escolhido como um mais plausível para a situação que vivemos hoje. Só não é um filme espetacular novamente pelo seu fim, e pela edição que retalhava algumas cenas.

An engaging mix of slasher meets romance.

Director Carlota Pereda starts from her homonymous film (a successful short film, winner of the Goya award in 2019), to sign this genre feature film on the theme of inner discomfort and the suffering of feeling the target of insults and cruelty because of one's body. Sara is a teenager with obesity problems, addressed by some peers like Piggy, who lives with her parents and her younger brother. She is mocked, offended and humiliated at every opportunity because of her physical appearance and she is the victim of body shaming. Until unexpectedly a stranger takes her defense, implementing brutal methods towards the culprits of the insults. Sara (her peers will eventually recognize her a name instead of the epithets with which they have always mocked her only when they find themselves in danger of death), has come close to breaking point after yet another cowardly joke. She then projects her desire for revenge into the figure of the serial killer who does what she would like to be able to do to get rid of a context (even family) that oppresses her beyond bearable. If interpreted in these terms, the film acquires greater depth by working on the contradictions of a protagonist who constantly struggles with herself, fought as she is by a natural instinct for revenge which however conflicts with a fundamentally good personality. Engaging psychological horror of social denunciation (against bullying, body shaming and in general against the lack of empathy and sensitivity of an increasingly inhuman and violent world). The film has an interesting visual force and has a good staging, some very successful and effective sequences (the pool scene) and an oppressive atmosphere. However, writing the script traces minimal portraits without seeking insights into a story and topics that offered multiple nuances and aspects to analyze. The actress Laura Galan's performance was exceptional in expressing both the discomfort of an obese girl, a victim of marginalization, humiliation and derision; and the emotional contradictions of an internal struggle based on revenge and righteousness. Net of a writing that needed more depth and more decisive choices in style and narration, this work still remains a discreet portrait of those who suffer discomfort taken to its extreme consequences. But also a valid educational message: to fight all types of physical and mental discrimination; paying attention to phenomena which, if neglected, could have devastating consequences, especially in a context of marginalization. Score: 6 – 7 out of 10

Complete waste of time. Bored out of my mind watching it.

It was okay. It got a bit weird with romance, but overall left a lot of questions unanswered in the end. I was left having to make my own assumptions on about 4 different topics which is not a great. I do think that the there were good morals to the story line.

I don't understand all the praise from the critics on this movie. The plot was weak, the pace was slow and just "meh" in regards to being an actual horror movie.

The movie was average, some scenes weren't necessary. But still watchable.

Pacing of Plot is enjoyable along with flushing out some cruel mean girls. Not what I was expecting on a few turns within the plot which i felt added more to wow factor in the end. Worth a watch or two
