Race Reviews
A straightforward, no-frills telling of an amazing tale.
A well done, but somewhat predictable sports movie. If you like sports movies, as I do, you are probably going to have a good time with this. It hits all the major beats and moments you look for in the genre, but doesn't really give you much of anything new. The closest it comes to having something really stand out is probably the relationship between Owens and the German Olympian - Carl "Luz" Long. While being a true story, there was something in the execution of their moments that felt a bit more inspired.
Great, great story , not a great movie but glad I watched it .
Not bad, it's pretty good. I think this is pretty close to the best they could do with what they had to work with. I don't know that you could do much more to show how meaningful it was, track and field just doesn't matter anymore, and you'd have to make it a 4 hour ordeal to really get people now to understand.
Great movie, good acting too, The actor that played Jesse Owens did a great job, I like the Olympics🇺🇲
Love this movie. Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. Excellent acting and something our whole family could watch.
Loved it! Directed and acted brilliantly, with a strong script. Such a good story!
Just astonishing! Epic Film!!!!
Pretty good movie. Entertaining with broad strokes in writing, acting, and pacing. Worth watching:
A wonderful movie about a wonderful person who lived wonderfully. i am grateful for having seen this movie and all the thinking that it should inspire in all of us to be better and kinder.
Disappointed regarding historic accuracy of the film. The film depicted the Los Angeles Colosseum as the site of the 1935 NCAA Track & Field Championships when it actually took place at Edwards Field at the University of California, Berkeley. I know this because my father, who was in high school at the time, attended the meet and saw Jesse Owen's amazing performance. Go Bears!!!!
One of the best biopics I have seen in years!!!
This was an awe-inspiring drama that touches the heart. Watching Black athlete Jessie Owens win 4 gold medals in 1936 Nazi Germany had me cheering him on. The sad truth is that Mr. Owens struggled to make ends meet despite his fame.
So so bio epic. Not that bad but not that great as well
Better than I expected. Seeing the huge olympic stadium with Hitler and the nazi crowd in color and with surround sound was quite an experience.
This sports movie was really good. Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. This true story about the legendary Olympic athlete Jesse Owens was dramatic and inspirational. It's a great story about believing in yourself and proving to the world that anyone can do extraordinary things. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching.
I enjoyed this one, great story about the life & times of Jessie Owens and the racial world he lived in 1936 leading up to the Olympics in Nazi Germany and how he overcame the obstacles he faced even in his own country of America.
