Resurrection Reviews
Predictable. Pointless.
I was barely awake for most of the movie. Was what’s the objective?
This movie was awful! Such a stupid, unbelievable plot!
The movie was overall very good. The ending had something to be desired but the movie itself was entertaining and suspenfull.
Okay so this was a good movie. I would have to say that the cinematography, acting, and writing are all phenomenal. The story has excellent closure and is incredibly interesting throughout. HOWEVER, this movie fucked me up. The psychological horror is so incredibly disturbing that its a day later and I'm still pissed off by it. I am not easily disturbed by horror movies because they usually fall into two categories: either 1) they're not that scary but they're pretty realistic, or 2) they're very scary but unrealistic. The reason this movie is so awful is because it falls at the uncanny valley of horror movies. The story is very wacky but somewhat plausible in my mind, especially with modern biological technology. But then we get to the horror. THE HORROR. Oh my god it is terrible. Not like it's poorly done, just that its absolutely disturbing and disgusting. The foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie put me in a place where I knew that Margaret was abused. Then her story about how she was abused really messed me up because of how absolutely terrible and plausible it was. Like, what David did falls in line with social manipulation strategies that you see in cults. Then Margaret's falling apart all seemed incredibly plausible for someone in her mental and emotional state. Finally, the fucking gore at the end. Holy shit. I am still angry because of that disgusting shit. I closed my eyes for most of it and just the audio fucked me up. This is what I mean by the horror was in the uncanny valley of horror films, it seemed plausible but yet was incredibly horrible. I would give this movie a higher rating, but it made me so angry by how well they were able to pull this off that I only gave it 4 stars.
Exciting and thought provoking thriller. Stellar performance by Rebecca Hall.
this movie was weird and not what I thought it would be. I do not recommend. so disappointing with alot of unanswered questions.
Both Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth really own their roles. The tension is palpable in many of the scenes. The only thing that I didn't care for was the ending.
