Sisters Reviews
Typical SNL humor, but a fun watch!
Movie was bad and unfunny jokes .
A nivel historia y desarrollo es bastante flojita, diría que incluso mala pero a nivel humor y como entretenimiento es excelente. Y creo que eso es lo que importa en una comedia, que te divierta y te haga reír así que cumple su cometido.
Poehler, Fey, and the outstanding ensemble make it enjoyable (especially Bobby Moynihan, who has a truly great character) despite the bland plot.
Super fun comedy about 2 sisters who just want to be transported back to the good ol' days. This has a super fun cast and is a fun (have I said it was fun?) story to sit back and relax. Its like Project X (2012) but for your parents.
I found Sisters to be a refreshing change, from rom coms or college, or freshman wild party movies,
Had high hopes for this movie on hearing the premise and that Fey & Poehler were starring. In the end it comes of as being a bit lazy and forced.
Some genuine laugh out loud moments. A lot of filler in between. Ending didn't land as poignantly as the filmmakers thought it should...
This movie is absolutely hilarious. Such a feel good, witty and humorous movie. I loved it. So worth watching.
Fey's one note performance left me looking for more. Her jokes might work in the Valley, but the rest of America isn't laughing.
first time i watched this, i didn't think it was bad. but really paying attention to this movie, it's too egotistical for me sorry
An unexpected coming-of-age story that's kind of fun, but never really soars. Fey and Poehler are usually great together, and seeing a bunch of middle-age people party like teenagers is fun, but they flounder in this one. There's times when the improv style of making a comedy works brilliantly, but then others where it just produces cringeworthy jokes. This falls into the latter.
It's fun to watched but it's not a remake of Brain De Palma's independent thriller sister.
"Sisters" stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and the chemistry between the two is great. Additionally, this comedy is able to combine vulgarity with an emotional core very well. That being said, there are opportunities for more laughs that are either not capitalized on or are not fully realized. For the most part this movie is hilarious. Some of the humor is too much gross out humor to be tasteful, but there are plenty of jokes that are genuinely funny. The story as a whole is solid enough for a silly comedy, but actually carries enough weight to be entertaining beyond the laughs. The characters are sympathetic and Poehler and Fey each bring their characters to life very effectively. The supporting cast also pack a few laughs with them and enhance this comedy from being just another "crazy party" flick. Overall, I give this film a 6.5/10.
"Sisters" is a paint-by-the-numbers party film about adults trying to channel their inner youth again and while it delivers some laughs, it's clear the terrific leads Tina Fey and Amy Poehler deserve much better material to work with.
This is a movie that my wife appreciates more than me and for good reason. If you are a female who had a sister growing up then you will definitely connect more to the humor is this movie. I still had some decent laughs though.
"Act your age" doesn't mean a thing here when Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey collide with their famed comedic chemistry for promising laughs, supported by a nice cast experienced with mixed reception, in a teenage narrative's partying routine whereas any life's bad choices goes free in accumulation with zero worries settled by unacceptable behavior. Lame comedy overall that really reaches most of the time, but, did have a few funny moments. Really could have done without Bobby.
Chock full of familiar SNL favorites and plenty of gags and one-liners...Sisters is sure to satisfy many!
The movie's over-reliance on the lead comedians' "improv "skills" results in them having more fun than the audience. Unfortunately, it feels less like a cinematic comedy and more like an awkward series of "Line-O-Rama" sketches that frustratingly overstay their welcome. Not terribly painful, but certainly awkward and boring.
